Default 1973 VW Squareback (NOVA)

I'm contemplating selling/trading my project VW for something else. I've reached a point where I need a driver, not a restoration project so here goes.

****PICTURE LINK ADDED, see below.****

1973 VW Squareback:
- showing 36xxx miles
- well maintained, oil changed regularly, valves adjusted regularly, oil leaks fixed when found
- rock solid pans...I repeat, rock solid
- rare full rack (these are very hard to find and very expensive as I found out)

Things I've done:
My intention was to go crazy on this thing. It's certainly a good starting point for someone who has the time and knowledge to go forth and do so. When I say "new," I mean new. Not new to the vehicle, not used before me. Here is what's on the table since I purchased the vehicle in October 2010.
- rebuilt distributor, new points, condenser, cap, rotor, plugs, new coil
- NOS TVS sensor (very hard to find)
- new wheel bearings all around
- new brakes, pads, fluid flushed
- new shocks all around
- new Continental tires, hubcaps
- new battery
- new ignition switch
- new coolant temp sensor, misc new sensors
- new oil screen, valve cover gaskets
- new ISP West over the top exhaust
- new VDO fuel level sending unit
- new fuel filter
- new spool of EFI fuel hose, EFI clamps (uninstalled)

Goodies:
The vast majority of the pieces I have are uninstalled as they were waiting for paint/body to be done first.
Interior -
- new TMI black carpet kit (full)
- new TMI off-white headliner
- new TMI off-white seat upholstery kit
- new TMI off-white interior panel kit (full)
- new TMI seat foam, burlap and hogrings w/plyers
- new silver-beige (off-white) reproduction steering wheel (wiper stalk modded to fit wheel)
- new full interior clip set
- new chrome hump beverage holder

Exterior -
- new driver's side rocker (uninstalled, is the only exterior rot that can't be unbolted)
- new lights, lenses front and rear
- new headlight trim pieces (repops of Hellas)

Now, on to the rest of the stuff. These are pieces I purchased to make the vehicle the way I thought it should be. Some of these things are used, rare, purchased because I knew I wouldn't be able to find something like this again.
- BerT3's independent front air-ride setup. Had this shipped over from Holland, it's a one-off setup that is unlike anything you'll ever see on the market. You probably don't want to know how much I spent on this.
- 1968 rear fenders, trim holes filled
- excellent wrap-around 1968 rear reflector housings, reflectors uncracked
- bullet style early front signal housings, new lenses
- fiberglass NOS fenders (very hard to come by for a fatchick)
- early Beetle headlights (new, was going to set these into the 'glass fenders)
- new chrome bumperettes
- NOS PPG windshield (VERY hard to find, most repop windshields are flimsy and cheap, this one is better than OEM)
- 800-900 bucks worth of new seals, fender welting, window felt wipers, misc rubber
- Variant rear trunk script
- used rear hatch (old one has some bondo)
- used rear apron (old one is a wavy ocean)
- used pop-out rear window conversion with several sets of spare latches
- NOS radio mount
- fully restored spare set of gauges with a working clock!

I'm sure I'm missing quite a bit of stuff about this car that I've put into it. As with any old car, I have a lot of spares that I haven't listed and I am trying to be as honest and forthcoming as I can about this car. When I did drive it, it got lots of attention. It isn't fast but that's not the point, is it?

When I first got it, before I replaced the tires and lowered the front end 3 inner clicks.

How it looks now, removed the junky bumpers.

It's a fatty.

I'm looking for $5000 or trade for a WRX, GC8 RS 2 door or Miata or something interesting. I'll spare you the bs "I'm taking a hit" or "the cost to replicate this" spiel. It is what it is, bring a trailer and take home a project. Add some time and a rear airbag setup from Airkewld and you've got a stunner that lays pan.

Located in Front Royal, VA.

Forgot to mention this is not carbed, it is indeed EFI and has a Bentley manual to go with it.

For those who might be curious on how the air ride works. The most common setup is the single bag beam which I've never liked. This gives you full independent control, utilizes the factory torsion based sway bar and give you a better ride. I don't have a 30mm wrench from hell so this sits in boxes.

Shoot me an offer! Keep in mind, a Subaru motor will fit under the engine lid of this thing.

Take just the car away for $2500. Pick and choose what parts you want for extra.
