Default over boost cobb ap question

im sure this has been covered before but i cant find anything on it. first off i have an 06 sti with hks cbe and a spt intake, besides that it is stock. so i got my ap the other day uploaded stage 1 91 map. being careful i kept it plugged in to monitor boost pressure and i was boosting up to 18.7psi. knowing this to be high i was concerned. contacted cobb and he suggested to upload the lwg map. i realized that there was a stage 1 acn 91 map too (being in California i decided to try it). when i get on it, it reads 16.7-17.2psi if i stomp in 5th from about 3k it gets up to 18psi. now i did down load the lwg map installed it and peak boost at 14.8psi. between the lwg map and the acn91 map its night and day power difference. am i going to hurt anything if the peak boost touches 18psi or do i need to run the lwg map??? also how accurate is the estimated whp? because it seems to me its way off.

any added boost that is not accounted for in the tune is a problem. overboosting can cause damage to your engine.

I was having an overboosting problem too even on the LWG map. I'm planning on waiting and getting a real tune when i get some more go fast parts
