Hehe, chased by an airplane huh? Sounds just like a bad rear wheel bearing to me. Its a common thing i guess. I'm on my third.

Tak it back to the dealer if you still under warrenty. I had my driverside rear bearing replaced under warrenty.

I'm under the impression it has to be professionally done with special tools.
Someone correct me if i'm wrong.

Yeah, unfortunately, I don't think that it's a very easy job to do on your own. Hopefully your still under warrenty if not, it'll prob run you about $350 at the dealer, thats what it cost me last time. Good luck!

i wish my car was still under warranty..... it was bought in 1998 so it ran out about a year ago and it has 80K on the clock.... oh well.... no way i am paying a dealer $350.... so i have no choice but to do it myself... unless i have to pull the whole rear end off the car it cant be that bad of a job....

I did some research into this a while ago.

You can get the hub out fairly easily, but unless you have a hydraulic press, you'll have to bring the hub to a competent shop to have the old bearing pressed out and the new one in.

Check out this thread for some part numbers of what you'll need to replace your bearing.
