Default Air Filter Change

On a 02 OBS what's the easiest way to change the air filter? There doesn't seem to be enough room when you undo the bolts and 3 clips for the air filter box to open it to slide the filter out. The back lid is trapped by the A/C line. Do you guys usually take the air filter box completely off? Looks easy enough to do but seems like a not too good design. Oh well, good chance to clean all the dust and bugs out of the box.

I undo the bolts and the 3 clips, then open the air box. You don't need too much space for sliding the filter out. Try it and you will know how easy that is.
