Do it. They have some long term test results up on the Inside Line website as they have had an ST for a few months. Actually they have a new entry up right now.

I like the black but living on a dirt road and in the snow belt would mean constant care and I just know I'll swirl the paint up. If it where say a carbon black with metallic speckles to liven it up ID pick that one. Second favourite is yellow because f it, third is blue which is actually a pretty nice color. Initial thought is that there is a lot of purple in it but as you look it over more you can see the complexities and different hues, which make the blue pop more. I test drove a blue on blue st2 and it was a very liveable color combo for a dd.

My only problem with this one is it's black, I wanted blue or silver with the blue inserts. I guess the black on black will be easier to sell later. Also the head rests on the seats I really hope they are adjustable as they point way too far forward.

As for taxes, I haven't traded in a car in years, is there tax advantage to that?

People are easily getting $500-$1000 under MSRP. Dont pay over sticker.

Taxes depends on the State. In IL we get credited like this...say I trade in and get $16k for my car, and the car I'm buying is $24k. I'd only pay taxes on the $8k difference. At 8.75% in IL I'd save $1,400. So on newer cars, it makes sense. Older....not as much.

YMMV based on state and vehicle value

I looked it up and that's the difference in WV too.

As for price I'm supposedly getting invoice plus tax and $250. Invoice on this car I was told is $26950.

Edmunds/Inside Line has a positive opinion on everything. They are the anti-TTAC, as it were.

Unfortunately there isn't much mark up in the Focuses. Even the ST. Invoice on that car is $26,992.76.

So in the real world use, how much difference in rear seat space is this compared to my TSX you think?

ST

REAR HIP ROOM 52.8 in. REAR HEAD ROOM 37.9 in.
REAR LEG ROOM 33.4 in. REAR SHOULDER ROOM 52.6 in

TSX

REAR HIP ROOM 54.2 in. REAR HEAD ROOM 37.0 in.
REAR LEG ROOM 34.3 in. REAR SHOULDER ROOM 56.1

Shoulder room seems to be the only substantial difference.

That's what he told me months ago when I asked. Said loaded ST's won't have much wiggle room, hence some markups.

As for room, I felt the seats and positions were tight, but the back seat was surprisingly big, well bigger than I was expected. I sat back where with little problem with head or shoulder room problems.

Is 201, 202, 203 like ST1, ST2, and ST3? 'Cause iirc only the upper two lines have Recaros. That would make a huge difference for me, YMMV.

I don't know but the 201 has partial leather Recaro's. The 202 has full leather, heated seats, lighting, and Nav.

Leg room stats can be super misleading, like Hyundai's MPG figures, I suppose. I swear different companies aren't measuring the same thing.

Anyway, 52.6" of shoulder room will mean this is a 2-across car in the rear for adults, tops. If you were even considering buying a 3-door hatch in the first place this probably doesn't matter that much to you.

I didn't realize the MyFord Sync could come without Nav.

I have an SGIII for all my Nav needs. I don't care for ambient lighting or leather. I would like heated seats and xenon's.

Problem is it appears Ford out the Nav in almost every car that isn't a base model

I'm jealous. There's a 202 package ST here in town in Tangerine Scream (they want 29,xxx for it, and a 201 package in Red (26,xxx). I'd much prefer the all-black color scheme.

I personally think the blue/ yellow interior options are horrendous. I'm sure someone will buy them, but I don't see them aging well.
