Default Powder Coating Places?

Havr been considering powder coating my stock 11 STI rims black and was wondering if anyone know of a good place to go near the Salem, NH area (southern NH near Manchester)

Also how well do powdercoats hold up to the usual wear and tear? Is this something I would have to do like every year to keep it looking ok? Any idea on ballpark prices?

Powdercoating should hold up to the normal wear and tear no problem. If you google something along the lines of "powder coating, Boston" there should be a thread on yuppieracing.net where they have found a local guy to do them. For big operations, I would expect to pay somewhere between $80-$110 per/wheel.

I have been considering this as well but the places I find on google aren't very close to you, more west or south of Boston. Hope this helps.

Central Mass Powder Coats, $100-150 a wheel.

Make sure you take them to someone who is accustomed to working with Aluminum wheels..otherwise they can weaken them.

I use Goodhue's in Derry, most recently for some motorcycle wheels.

They are on Route 28 right across from Seacoast Sport Cycle.

How satisfied were you with the finished product? Did they seem to have a knowledgable and professional operation going?

And what other kind of wheels are powdercoated?

Very much so. They are doing a lot of work for custom shops, showcars, showbikes, etc. I think you're going to find that most folks in your area are going to them. Honestly I know of no bad places in the area but they've always done a good job for me: started working with them when they were still garage based and they did a bicycle frame. Boston Biker list of shops.

Most recent work with them were some badly corroded aluminum rims done in satin [semi-gloss] black.
Before.

After.
