Default Worst day ever

Yea....so today sucked major ass.
My mom's restaurant caught on fire, and now we have to get the kitchen repaired.
I never really thought this stuff could happen to me...but I guess I was wrong about that.
At least no one got hurt, and we have full insurance coverage.
Thanks for the open ear.
Geoff

Eternal_Reign,

This by no way is how to get off on a good foot here.

As for your total of 20 post, 16 today, I see you heading for an early grave.

Straighten up, or get out.

That's a bummer man.
And I think E_R's message is correct, if in poor taste and rather unwanted. I can think of far worse things to happen. It's only money (and she's insured, so it's not even all that much money).

Look at the bright side - she'll be able to get that new oven or stove or whatever that wasn't justified before.

There is good that comes from almost all bad (and if not, was it really bad?)

Lighten up people.

Thanks for the support guys.
We get to talk to the insurance people Monday, and then we get to clean. That's going to be so nasty, since we can't touch anything until the insurance looks. Lots of food everywhere, ugh.

Sorry to hear about the fire. I'm familiar with what you're going through; the house I was living in a few years ago (while going to UW) caught fire. While my bedrorom and the living room had no fire damage, the heat + smoke damage pretty much made everything unusable. Insurance paid for it all, but I had to inventory every single item with an adjuster to get it covered. At the end of the day they also covered the clothes I was wearing; I was covered with soot and smelled worse than an ashtray.

Lead paint really doesn't smell good when it burns.

Thanks again

Everything is going to be fine, we talked to the insurance company today, and they are providing us with a contractor that will take care of EVERYTHING. So we just get to sit back for 2 weeks and wait for stuff to get fixed.

Avedis-latex paint doesn't smell that great either
