Default Youngest Swapper on Nasioc?

I am 15 years old and while I was working on my own swap yesterday, I thought.

Who is the youngest person on nasioc to do a swap?
(Sorry, but helping out with a swap does not count)

So who is the youngest person to do a swap on their own?

I swapped my nissan at 15.. Not a subie tho. It gets pretty hectic, and then when you have problems it gets worse. Just try to surround yourself around good mechanics incase you need help. The problem i had was rewiring some of the engine harness:/

Congrats on not being a useless youth! it's nice to see a kid with gas powered dreams(not solar cras!!) still. you likely are the youngest currently doing his swap! plenty think about it. i rebuilt some engines while 13-14, but never for my car, or a swap! i had to rebuild my first car and engine from 2 cars we got in a junkyard(daytona turbo Z's).

swapping is swapping, whther nissan or otherwise. but once you work on a suby, you'll know theres almost twice the crap to go wrong, and to buy when redoing things. wiring is a good thing to learn now. i still shy away from big merges, and major replacements(i have airline mech's for that!).

lets see some 15yr old swapping skills now! or it didn't happen.....

Default hey

Yeah I'm 19 and I'm thinking about starting a forester sti swap soon myself... Got the swapping fever when I got my new leggy jdmsti, working on it with the very well accustomed subie mechanics in my town this summer, I have a big extra garage up at my dads that would be perfect for doing the work on weekends and storing the project, I know how to wire because my dad fixes electronics for a living, owns his own business fixing music equipment mostly, I was his apprentice, learned how to solder from a master hahaa, and my uncle is an electrical engineer... Was the chief engineer on a freight ship( same kinda guy as the airline mech's) haha, he's a mad genius with anything mechanical, not just wiring, seen him completely redo the wiring on 2 electric cars, it was like double the amount of wires as a car... So I'm not worried about the wiring, or mechanical stuff when my best friend is a wyotech trained mechanic, but my question is where do you find the time to do all this? I guess at 15 you got all kinds of free time, I wish I would of hopped on this back then haha, I was too busy with sports, being a kid though to think about cars yet.. but huge props to ya kid! good luck with your swap, definately surround yourself with well knowledgeable mechanics, it makes a world of difference... never be afraid to ask a million questions hhaa, that's what I did, you learn a lot very quickly that way.... keep with it though and you'll have some sick rides for sure... The way I see it is we're living in the last couple generations that are even going to have enough oil and gasoline(fossil fuels) left to drive around with... So we might as well live it up while we can right? I want to have a 450 awhp monster some day haha

God dammit! I came into this thread thinking I was going to be the youngest. Oh well.

16... About to start my swap project. Might hold off until spring though, Idaho winters aren't really friendly when your garage is occupied by your parent's cars.

I will probably do my swap in my driveway. Thank God I have another car to DD while this is underway.

If I wait until April-ish, I should have enough for either an EJ207 or an EJ257. Still haven't decided which to go with.

I guess the research part of my swap has already begun.

here we go again another person that thinks because a teenager has a decent car they are loaded and set for life.

You are dead wrong.

I have worked for practically every dollar I own and if I didnt work for it i got it for Christmas from my aunt or grandparents (were talking 20$ here)

I also happened to get an amazing deal on both my car and my donor car.
my car=4,000
Donor 02 wrx= 1,000

I'm really tired of hearing people say i'm either spoiled or rich, because on the contrary, some of us work very hard so that we can get nice things.
