Default Boost Readings W/ Datalog

2 Days ago I installed my SF and added the Stage 1 + SF 93 MTv300 on my 2011 WRX sedan. I did some recordings and I was not getting my target boost of 17PSI. Today I flashed the ECU with the 1 + SF 93 MTv300 HWD to see if I would get the 17PSI I was looking for and I got a 16.7PSI, which is good. However in one of my runs I got a feedback knock.

It would be great if I could get some feedback on my logs.

Thanks

The first log of the HWG map shows some a single count of feedback knock on mashing the throttle (which can be normal) and another single count as feedback knock is being ramped back to zero (which is the more concerning knock event). The rest of the logs do not show any knock events during your WOT runs.

I would take a few more 3rd gear WOT logs (if you can so safely) and see if that second knock event was a fluke or not. If you see it again, I would look at changing gas stations (to a name brand gas if you aren't doing so already), or you can run the more conservative 91 octane map while still running the 93 octane gas.

Bill,
Thanks for the response. Actually the first run with the HWD in the list was my third run. So there was a run before and one after without knocks. However I will follow your advice and keep testing. I will keep you posted with my results.

Thanks again,
Juan

Hello,
Here are my latest datalogs using the Stage 1 +SF 93 MTv300 HWD. It would be great if I could get some feedback. On these runs I did not get any knocks, but I did get a fine knock learn, and I really do not know what that means.

Thanks,

Juan

Hi Juan,

You'll need to set the permissions to public in order for us to view those logs.

Hey Juan, fine knock learning has to do with the ECU compensating for a knock event that occurred at the same Load/RPM. By the way, how did you get the boost target and gear columns to show up on your datalog spreadsheets?

Should I worry about the learn? And to get different things on the datalogs, just go to datalog list and check off all you want the cobb to record

You have some fine knock learning during the WOT run. Fine knock learning is the ECU's way of tweaking timing based on knock events. It detects knock and then applies a correction and keeps re-applying the correction in the revelant load/rpm range until certain conditions are satisfied (namely no knock in that cell) and then it slowly removes the correction (which it has started to do in your case).

I would give the 91 map a try while still running the 93 octane gas (make sure you reflash the 91 map - not flash as real-time). See if these events completely go away at WOT.
