have any of you gone to either? any personal thoughts and opinions on both? what would be the major downside of doing it open road style rather than dyno? Thanks for the help!

If you need to get tuning done I would go with an E-tune from Ron/Phatbotti.
You don't need to drive anywhere and their pricing is great.
Opensource and Cobb, they can do both.

The best thing you can do is talk to the tuner and tell them your goals or plans for the car. You can ask them how much a tune will cost as well as what parts they reccomend or need you install.

From what I understand, most of the road tuners will want you to have a particular wideband o2 sensor installed, so that may play a factor in costs.

If you plan on just wanting 1 tune and leaving your mods alone I would reccomend a dyno tune. They will use the dynos o2 sensor by putting it in the muffler.

If you plan on doing a few mods at a time and want to retune a few times, you might want to consider a road tuner or an etuner, they are usually about half the cost for a tune with the caveat that you need the correct tools to have them tune your car.

That being said, a dyno tuner might give you a break on retunes depending on what you plan to install.

Just do some research and pick a few tuners to call or email and get a conversation going.

LOOK AT WHAT SUBARUFORESTER.org posted HAHAHAHAHAHA!

This thread has been deleted by the forum staff because the member who posted it did not feel compelled to live up to the standard of adult behavior that we expect here.

Should you live in the Kern County area and wish to participate in biweekly meets, you can check out this active thread at NASIOC for up to date details.

So basically they are saying I'm not adult because I had to post 15 times to even get our direct nasioc URL/pix/ and website for location/menu. Basically he pm'd saying that I can't bump the thread or put fake posts to make my total post 15. That I should of contacted a moderator to post Em up. Im new to that forum and i dont even know whos a mod on there. We are now on 10+ forums and forester.org is the only forum i had issues with posting. He closed the thread before I could even talk to him LOL. What a waste of time talking/ asking politely with that moderator! Probably assumes that I'm a 16yr old that drives an Sti that my parents paid for. Maybe they don't like nasioc members? LOL

I could of cussed him out or called him names but I'm better than that. They're the ones who said I'm not an adult LOL. their loss

Yep I do. I have the ebay CBE. It looks alot like the Invidia N1 or Blitz nur spec. And it sounds pretty good and quality is great. I got mine slightly used for about $100 shipped. I am sure they have something similar on ebay for the 11'

Yimi all the way , got open sourced tuned by them last year , cost 450 but well worth it, 350 for tunes after that if you slap on more mods, theres about 4 people i know in town that get their tunes by them, all up to you though.
