Unhappy Up-pipes and CA emissions

I posted this question before but didn't get much of a response.

Any of you guys have an up-pipe and passed CA emission tests??

I'm not so much concerned of the actual emissions cause I've heard you can pass since the WRX is a low emissions vehicle. But I am scared about the inspection....I don't want to spend $300 on something that has to be taken off later....

The up-pipe cat is there for cold start emissions. You will pass the sniffer, but fail the visual if they know there is a cat there. Most people don't know where to look when I tell them. Just go to a place that will hook you up.

You might want to look into an OEM up-pipe. I got one for $100 with OE heat shield. It looks stock so unless you know what you're looking for, no one can tell. One thing however, it doesn't have a bung for EGT sensor. I just use a resistor mod instead...
so far so good...if interested, let me know....

Are all you guys getting emissions fix-it tickets or just planning for the future? I thought you had like five years or something till your first smoggie-woggie
