Default BaysonR V-Limited Lip - Are you guys painting it?

I just got my lip from baysonr and it's just sitting in the box, ready to be mounted. However, I was wondering if you guys are painting it black or just leaving it be. I want it to replicate the real v-limited look.

Thanks!

I scuffed, primed and sprayed it gloss black myself. My car is black though. I like the way it looks. It's really whatever your preference is. It doesn't look bad either way.

I kept mine the way it was. It matches my raw PU spiler and the other trim on the car. Granted, this is on my DD LGT and not the show WRX.

I left it raw and glad I did since I scrape it often.

Use, primer if you can... I'm spoiled too cuz my car is black but that way when you scrape you can just reshoot it easily. Will also be more protective and flexible than paint would. Just my .02!

Do we need to drill holes in the bumper? It came with a combination of pop-its and screws. My bumper doesn't have screw holes on the bottom. Haven't looked to see if they all line up with pop-it spots.

It should line up, but I would recommend using a few self tapping screws in the voids of the predrilled. It will make it rock solid and part of your bumper... just be careful not to rip it all off depending where/how you drive!

The problem is that the lip has both popits and screw holes. My bumper does not have screw holes. Do I have a lip for a wrx and not STi?

It will be your usual poly black, that will fade over time from uv exposure. Since it will arrive off the car, I'd hit it with a layer of flat black primer after a scuff/clean and you're starting fresh and bright until your first scrapes and second coat

Painted mine and it started chipping because I most likely am a ****ty painter/used ****ty spray paint. Had it painted black professionally and it looks so much better. Shortly after I had it painted though, I rolled over high snow and it got ripped off.

Mine looked really faded and almost grey from Subimods.com, so I needed to paint it.

I'm only lowered on RCE blacks which are probably the mildest drop you can get and I still scrape this lip pretty often. It's not worth painting IMO unless you're at stock ride height. It takes too many hits. The raw look isn't that bad.

It will come with about 16 screws and predrilled holes in the lip for them. The holes for the pop clips line up just fine, too, so use those as well.

Sand it all up nice and hit it with some bumber coating its more flexible paint. Have that on mine and I'm on kw 3s front lip is lower then a 12oz soda can I don't hit to often just take thinks at angles you will be fine. And iVE hit mine a few times in the last year and it still looks great bumper coating FTW

Use duplicolor bumper paint. It's designed to be flexible so it doesnt crack or peel when the lip is twisted or bent. It's got a nice flat black/gray color to it too. Certainly looks better than unpainted.

I painted mine myself using it and even with a mediocre spray job with only 2 coats of paint, it still hasnt cracked or bent. I bottom out all the time (unfortunately). Use a spray adherence promoter before the bumper paint for good measure.
