Default 05 STi 5x114 knuckle to 04 wrx wagon axle? (front)

So here is an idea...

I want the 5x114 STi hubs, knuckles, bearings on the front of my 04 wagon 5 MT because they are more robust (less bearing issues). Planning for lots of track time in the wagon.

Assuming I have the 5x114 STi knuckles, bearings, hubs, will they mate to 04 wrx axles, or do I need to get 05 STi axles?

Will I need tone ring adapters? If I omit, will I be out abs?

I am only planning on upgrading the fronts, my wheels are dual drilled 5x100 and 5x114, 17x8, so I can still rotate tires.

I know I will need 05 STi suspension and brakes, that is fine, since I have not bought coilovers or bbk yet.

Thanks,

Your axles wont work. Also, STi axles wont work with your 5 speed either(IIRC). It may work with the early 04 STi axles, however you would need tone ring spacers.

LIC Motorsports also makes the tone rings. Little easier to get ahold of them too.

op yes youll need to either use modded knuckles for you wrx struts or change to 05+ sti struts/ coilovers. brakes all mount the same but rotors would need redrilled to 114.3. Id also change to the 6mt front axles as they are rated for 400+ whp and have a WAY better cv. Find what your trans has , studs or plugins and get the same for axles or swap sundials to the newer style plugins. I think there are some 04s out there with stub style 5mts.

Did you buy double drilled wheels? Or have them drilled?
