there is no way Northern East-Coast cars due around the 5/18/2012 allocation are on the Dionysos Leader. it will take 5 days to go from Port in Portland to Port in San Francisco. There is no way it would make port in Baltimore to satisfy the ETA's in my area. So our cars are on another ship. That much is clear.

I cant see these ships going from port to port, ithink they just hit one port and off load then head back.

East coast ships should already have gone through Panama by now half way through the carabean I'm thinking

The ships do hit more than one port. When they can carry up to 6500 cars per ship they will have multiple ports to hit. The Dionysos Leader is known to be carrying subarus and has hit 2 ports so far and is on its way to its 3rd.
But yeah any ships meant for east coast allocations would have to be getting close by now.

West Coast ships will hit about 3 ports normally in Washington, Oregon and SoCal. ETA from Japan to the first port is approx 2 weeks.

East Coast ships are roughly the same. The shoot through the canal, then port in San Juan, Baltimore, Boston, and then Rhode Island. ETA from Japan to Baltimore is around 30 days.

It is Quonset where they drop them off, I drive by there all the time and see all the cars. However, the numer of Subaru's they drop off there isn't nearly as high as the number of VW's and Audi's which take up most of the space. So I'm guessing the cars dropped off there aren't shipped too far and there's another port in the NE they drop them off at also.

Not to mention I normal see more R8's lined up than STI's

All this boat talk is killing me. I don't even have my VIN yet, and i'm sitting here staring at these little boats crossing my computer screen. I keep zooming in on the city of Yokahama to see if I can see my car.

I think I'm starting to piss of my salesman. I keep calling him every week.

Not to hijack this thread about boats......I posted a few pages back about placing an order on 4/21 and asked about the possibility of making a color change since I hadn't received a VIN yet. The salesman told me certain colors may or may not be made, as the more "common" colors that people order (black, silver, gray) are likely to be filled. So I ordered DGM base WRX sedan. I called SOA yesterday to ask about color change (my wife prefers PBP and we are trading in her car - figured I'd cater to her on color choice) and they directed me back to the dealership. I called the dealership today to ask if that would reset the timeline for ordering.....and he tells me...."well, it's gonna be too late for that, because I just got an invoice on your car today. It's sitting at the port and should be in this week or next!!!!" I almost had a heart attack. I was thinking, well it's gonna be 8-10 weeks. Maybe the salesman was on to something, redirecting me towards certain colors. Although this might be a luck of the draw situation, it seems to be one of the quickest turnarounds from placing an order to actually receiving the car. DGM it is!

Congrats, and just to let you know, I changed my color and it did reset my order date. I just saw a DGM (was my original choice, switched to WRB) yesterday and it looks fantastic!

Wow, that sucks. Thanks for the heads up though. I have a lot of hoops to jump through before it's official anyway. My wife wants to stand firm on trade in value for her 06 Scion Tc, or she "wants to walk." lol. There's no way I have leverage here, because the stealership will just refund my deposit and sell to someone else for more money (if they refuse our asking amount). No loss for them if I drop out. So I can't get too excited yet. This is just the beginning.

Anyone have any experiences with Van Bortel/New york state/SoNE dealerships? Currently waiting on allocation for my order to get processed. How long have you waited for the open allocation or VON ?

Arrived and was released on 4/23/12, sat all last week at the docks without getting put on a truck, called soa on sat to try and figure out what was up... got a call from soa this morn telling me it went onto a truck yesterday and is on its way. Should be here tomorrow, pending holdups...

Dealer called me just a bit after (since they knew I would have been bugging them shortly anyways lol) to tell me the same thing except that the tracking shows today! No arrival yet, wasn't counting on it though...
