Default Installing Center Gauge Pod

Hey guys,

I just got the following gauges (OEM Lamco Performance Pack):

I want to install them on the upper center pod on my dashboard. I also have the piece showing on the top of this pic:

However, I don't have the separate vents, and I don't want to just "paste" the housing on top of the existing one. If i take out the lid, I'll still have the piece that comes with the vents. And I don't want to drill a hole on that piece to run the wires...

Where can I get the separate vents?

Don't these go into a single din slot? Why not just put them there?

1-) I have a better look of the gauges on top of the dash than down.

2-) I want to keep my single din pocket below the radio

3-) They look nice up there!
