This has been my ongoing project for a while now, which I’ve been working directly with Equilibrium Tuning (aka EQ Tuning) located in Fairfield, California. ED (Owner/Tuner) and I have been working on a sleek design that has 600+whp yet leaving the stock look and also being somewhat street able. Here is the build list.
*********** Car: Impreza STi Year: 2006 Color: OBP Engine: Darton Sleeves 100mm CP Pistons ACL Race Bearings Shortblock Clearancing and Blueprinting ARP Case Bolt Set ARP Head Stud Kit 5 Angle Valve Adjustment Port, Polish and Gasket Match Heads Cosworth Rods Cosworth Cams – 278 deg. The whole set up will be virtual gauges utilizing my Clarion NX-705 and a custom Carputer. I want it to appear to be stock on the inside. The interior right now looks like a WRX interior. Exterior Details: I put the Chrome STi since people see the chrome and assume WRX. Only thing that gives it away is the BBS Rims, Orange Brembo’s, Rear Flares, Diffuser, and small wing above the window. Future: I need to work on suspension, braking, tires, and possible upgrading the axles. I was thinking an Ohlins or Race Comp full coil over setup. For brakes I am going to upgrade rotors and pads, maybe even get the Stoptech Brake Kit (Questionable). Axles, I’ve seen 1000hp axles but might be cheaper just to replace it with OEM if it breaks. I don’t expect the stocks to snap all the time… hopefully. *********************************** Update: Car did 500WHP @ 25psi (Full spool roughly 4500rpm). Need to fix fueling issues.

Paint the Brembos black for a murdered out look...personally I'd suggest silver with either NO stickers or SUBARU stickers. Orange Brembos are way too loud for a sleeper and putting an STI or Brembo sticker on them slightly defeats the purpose. I'd go with a debadged trunk (at least get rid of the trim level badges) for that clean look. Many WRX drive around debaged, so other than the brakes you'd be rather stealth.

not too sure about it being "sleeper" status, but I'm liking what I see as far as performance mods. Can't wait to see how much it puts down.

I'd leave the brakes the stock color. Just debadge it and get wrx sideskirts.

Brembos are suspicious! Front brembos bolt up and there are 5*100 drilled rotors for them, so not too suspicious. However, the Brembo rear is a dead giveaway since the conversion to rear Brembos on a WRX is pricey and often times people just opt for the red 2pots.

Naw, aside from the sideskirts and sunroof, I think the Limited's exterior looks like the regular WRX. No extra badges.
Here's mine for reference: (Only exterior changes are the wheels and '05 tails) ![]() ![]() ![]() I'd definitely go with Red calipers. But black would still look very "sleeper-ish". |

![]() I love my sunroof but I do not think it's worth $1,200 by ANY means. Having it open is no different than just having the side windows down IMO. |

I vote no sunroof, replace STi badge with WRX, gloss black calipers with flat black brembo letters, silver BBS, and add a resonator or something to your exhaust to keep the db's down. The sound is going to give you away instantly.
