Default A/C doesnt work after JDM Ver7 Swap into 2003 WRX

Hey everyone,

After swapping a JDM STi ver 7 motor and ECU into my 03 WRX my A/C and fog lights no longer work. I am assuming this has somthing to do with the JDM ECU. Does anyone have the pinouts for this ecu so I can get these working again?

Thanks everyone!

Hey I was thinking about this very same swap. Did you keep your 5 speed or do a full conversion?

I have this same issue, my A/C is not working after swapping to V8 JDM STi ECU. I have two other problems too, speedo and AVCS is not working either.

Anyone figure this out? About to swap in an EJ207 myself and just got my AC recharged after not having it for an entire summer. It would sure be a shame if it didn't work!

I swapped a version 7 into my bugeye and everything was fine. I used the jdm engine harness and jdm ecu. I then repinned my usdm chassis harness with the shielded wires from the jdm cut chassis harness to the ecu and used the version 7 smaller ac compressor then put in new o rings for the fittings and got it charged.

Use the JDM engine harness. It plugs right into the USDM chassis harness..

You took off the jdm ac compressor? That's the one you should use.

Nope. JDM complete. JDM a/c. My wrx a/c plug doesnt plug in and has 3 wires, the plug coming off the jdm a/c only has one wire too.

Use the USDM compressor and it works just fine, you have to swap over the US compressor mounts since the JDM compressor is slightly different. you just flop it out of the way while swapping to avoid venting the system.

The JDM compressor that came on my motor was rusted as hell inside, they are not ment to be left open to the elements as most are once the hoses are cut.

I heard that's the easiest way BUT I don't have a usdm one. I'm building a shell I bought.

Did you get a complete engine along with a complete engine harness? If so, it should be hooked up already. I don't understand what the issue is. Mine was already plugged in as far as I know. I just slightly bent the lines going to the compressor so the usdm ac lines would work on the jdm compressor.

I got the complete engine harness. The issue is; there is a plug on the a/c. IT plugs into the a/c plug from the cars "in engine bulkhead harness", not the engine harness.

Hopefully someone else chimes in. I dont recall having any plugging in issues at all, and definitely dont remember swapping a plug to make it work. My chassis was an 02 and I don't think there is a difference between the 02 and the 03. As far as I remember, everything plugged right in.

Until I start my car I wont know if it works, but I spliced, soldered, heatshrinked and plugged in my A/C. I had found an old a/c from my other bugeye and just used that plug.
