Default Tach wiring help needed

Guys(and gals),
I'm trying to finish wiring my digital dash system in the rally car. I need to find out where I can tap the tach signal wire for the RPM feature on the unit. Does anyone know where I can do this and what color the wire is? I'd rather do it someplace other than behind the instrument cluster. That way, we wouldn't need to dig behind the dash in case we have a problem during a rally.

Thanks in advance for the help! I've looked in the Haynes Legacy manual and can't find anything labelled, "tach."

Cheers! John

Do you still have a stock ECU? If so, you can tap the wire in the RPM wire going into the ECU. That's what I did for the Defi HUD and SAFC. The wiring diagram is www.forcefed4.com

Tmat,
I do have the stock ECU. Not sure why I didn't think of that sooner! Too many things on my list of things to get done! Thanks for the feedback and the link! :-)

Cheers! John
