But a price tag of around $25k props to subaru but i cant wait to see all the mods you can do to them if they release them!
i think you misunderstood this. there are yet to be any release of STI specs for the brz. 200hp 170lb trq is the estimated power for the BRZ model being released in spring.

No, you're actually just in time. Come on in!

Does the V6 Mustang come in AWD with all-seasons from the factory? Because it's irrelevant to this discussion unless it does.

you're going to skip right over the V6 mustang and go straight for the 400 hp GT, huh?

of course. because an STI variant of a BRZ is going to be in the low to mid 30k region. You can compare the base BRZ to a V6 mustang but this thread is about the STI concept of the BRZ... itd be unfair to compare the STI concept to the v6 IMO.

Amen brother! although I think you meant roof/ header or headliner...

That STI concept is very nice. I love the front spoiler and the color...

Someone said they thought a turbo wouldn't fit. This is incorrect, what won't fit is AWD. It has been mentioned a couple of time that other suby engines should fit, hince there is room for a turbo . Although I would prefer a supercharger, maybe one of the new eatons that are rumored to be 76% efficient

I have been saying for awhile that the next STi would be based off the brz. However the motor trend article thru a curveball when it reported that this chassis was designed from the beginning to be streachable, food for thought

If Subaru is able to push the mainstream lines MPG higher and the BRZ stays low volume, I would guess your more likely to see a 2.2-2.5 liter version before a turbo.

However, if the Legacy and Impreza lines "need MPG help" for CAFE a 1.6 turbo could be a possiblity.

Either way, regardless of the STI "concept", I'm thinking only minor trim differences between the Subaru and the Scion in the states until an official STI is released (2 years?).

I agree with the 2-3 year timeline on the official STi. And unfortunately it probably won't look as good as the concept .

But that is ok, because I am looking forward to the brz anyway. I also hope that it will have the rumored higher hp numbers than the FR-S. I don't expect it but it would be nice.

A N/A 2.5 with di and high redline could be a lot of fun as well...

I have been following this thing for a while and I remember that statement being that the engine mount points are the same as the EJ motor and thus you could, theoretically, put in an EJ motor without fabricating new mounts. That does not mean that a EJ motor could go in as the location where the turbo is on regular WRXs and STIs will not work because of the mount points putting the engine too close to the firewall. I believe that there was some type of setup that the Legacy may have used that might have worked, but I am afraid that at this time I just can't remember the conversation. I think there was also some concern with the top mount inter cooler and hood clearance.

valid points, I see no way for the topmount intercooler to fit. I am going off of pics and not actual measurements of course.

I seem to remember someone saying that they thought the turbo would fit, but I think that was speculation and I know this is

Look at how huge those mini's wheels are compared to the FT-86. There is NO WAY that thing is scaled properly.
