Default FYI Utah window tint

For those here in Utah who may be interested, last session the legislature loosened the law regarding window tinting on your car.
There is now NO restriction as to how much window tint can be applied to windows other than the windshield or front side windows. The windshield still must allow for 70% light transmittance and the front side windows must allow for at least 43% light transmittance. Happy tinting!
(Which then leads to a question: where is a good reliable place to get your windows tinted around here?)

You might get away with having darker windows. I used to live in wyoming.. the law there was.. front 35%, back 27.. I have 20% on front and back...

Whoa, a Utah post! Man, I swear no one from Utah ever posts here. Seems like this forum should be titled "Colorado" rather than Rocky Mountains... anyway, that's all.

I've got 30 or 35% all around (I think... can't remember) and have had zero problems with Highway patrol or inspections. I also drive from Ogden to SLC and back every day. No problems. I'm excited for the darker limit now though. I think I'll drop the rears to maybe 10%.

FWIW I got my windows tinted last year at some small place in Clearfield. It's just a small little place that just does tint, but he was the first place I found that would do the tint as dark as I was looking for. They did a good job.

(Edit - just reworded some things)

I think it was called something like hint of tint. It's a small place, just a guy or two working out of this garage in sort of a strip mall type place. Seemed a little sketchy at first, but it was cheaper than some of the other places and came out great.

I just had my widows tinted at the place at 442 n. main in Clearfield. It is called Hint of Tint and they did a great job on my WRX sedan. They'll do whatever shade you want for $159 with the appropriate cover their butt warnings.

Yup that was the place, that's where I got mine done. IIRC, they are about the cheapest around too. I think they'll beat anyones prices as well.
