well, it certainly isn't great. however, consider this: I was running 11psi and kept the stock air box in at the dyno.

Did you make changes between the two runs or is just heat soak?

I tuned it via Link inbetween runs.

The first (bottom) line near 50 is the hp curve. of those two lines...the one that looks like spaghetti is the 1st run. the more linear one is the 6th run.

Now the top line, starting about 125, is where the torque line is. Again, the one that looks like spaghetti is the 1st run and the run that is pretty much stable at 220, is the 6th run.

This is all on pump 91 octane.

This is with a WRX engine, no? If so, then why only 11psi?? Crank it up.

on the dyno with the stock wrx intake INCLUDING snorkel tube inside the fender...PLUS a tiny fan blowing on top of the intercooler = a turbo screaming for MORE air.
I it did this way so i can compare other conversion projects we do.
think of this as a base
on the street i run 16psi..

I get it now! So on the street you run 16psi with same setup, or different intake?

Just an FYI, I run the stock intake with stock filter element on my WRX and it runs fine. The only thing I've done to it is cut the intake muffler off but all of the piping is in place. Honestly, I don't think that the intake muffler really hurts performnce IMO. Afterall, this is forced induction.

Anyhow, those are some good numbers with low boost. Have you taken it to the track yet to get a baseline?

I am staying away from the 1/4 mile for now. I am using the stock 2.2 tranny. It had 95,000 on it when i did the conversion.
On the street I run 16psi and use the stock box. I am just testing out this tranny compared to the others. So far this is suits me best. I get the first 3 rs gears (pretty close to rs) and the last 2 wrx gears. That tranlsates into some good torque and then some good top end.
My goal is to have the best stock looking USDM subaru set-up, W/out NOS, around...in the states

how was it done?
with a lot of solder, a few manuals, a lot of patience and some electrical/mechanical know how.
Why din't i swap the tranny?
I didn't want to. I wanted to see how the 2.2 would fair. I actually like it a lot more than the wrx tranny. I get some great bottom end and some top end too.

Please keep us updated as to how the 2.2 tranny holds up. I love my tranny...I'm so used to it and it seems to have just the right ratios to make even a mere 2.2L N/A perform admirably. I want the EJ20 so badly I can almost taste it ...but if your tranny holds up well enough I might just go that route instead of a whole engine+tranny swap.

Word.

tranny still holding up after multiple drag runs and 5000 miles of 70-85% hard driving.

It's amazing me sooo far

FYI: I am now at 245 to the wheels

Yes, go read up in the Conversion forum, and try not to bump threads that are nearly 10 years old.
