i know i'm not the first to do this but its something difference so here is a little how to.

For all the people who will get bent out of shape because I put this on my works...this was temporary while I waited for my work caps to arrive. Its a small gag, and it worked well keeping dirt out of the hub. Don't like it, don't do it. Its cheap, easy, different. Let's leave it at that.

first, pick the the beer you want, not to drink but the color of the top. i picked up miller highlife because it's gold, and looks great.

then proceed to drink the beer/or drain it. what ever you like but DO NO open it from the top. just poke a hole in the bottom since you will get rid of that anyway. you want the lid/vent to stay closed.

after you drank it cut the bottoms out. you should be left with this:

before you cut any more, take one wheels off and see how far out the can stick out, on my wheels it went out until it began to get fatter, some wheels you will barely clear the rim of the can. this will tell you how far down to cut and how wide/narrow it needs to be to fit.

once that is done you should cut it down to size so that you have this as a finished product:

after you cut it down to size, put it back into the wheels see if it is snug. since i'm running hub centric rings i cut it to the perfect length so that the hub centric ring pushes on the beer can and keeps it sitting flush. also you will notice i cut a few groves, that makes the can be more flexible so that you can bend it to fit tighter or if it's too big the groves will help you fit into a tighter spot.

so basically try to make sure it's in there tight, and if you don't have hub centric rings because you have stock fitment wheels for the hub, then just cut it long enough for the actual hub to push up on it thus it will keep in in place.

and the final product looks like this:

you can see that the can is a bit to narrow up to thus it sticks out a bit farther, however on smaller sized center cap/hubs you will clearly have less of the can showing and more of the top only. also you see why you don't open the can, you want to keep the top intact.

enjoy!

-Ivan

This is officially the WORST mod I've ever seen on a Subaru. I'd rather see 10,000 Crown Royal shift boots with large dildos as shift knobs that this atrocity.

Yall realize he did this as a hold-off for his anxiety of not having his center caps yet, because he is waiting for his proper ones to show up. How long did you say you've been waiting Jive? How long till you get the real center caps?

Some of us don't run center caps. We don't want them to pop/melt off. Tacky idea.

This is brilliant; If I was still in a drunken haze and lived in the mountains, I could pull this off.

I bolted a Fosters Oil Can on the hood of my 77 Caddy after the hood ornament was stolen; Drove like that for a couple of years. However that car only cost me $350.00.

This is a little more subtle but something tells me my wife would say no.

first of all, i just drove 100+ round trip miles on the nj turnpike and through NYC street on my sti, caps didn't pop out or move at all.

second, yeah wheels are expensive, but i can't stand to look at them without any kind of center cap. the work center caps i ordered won't bee here till ATLEAST january because the ones i ordered aren't for sale yet, as they aren't produced since they are rolling out new center caps from now on, no longer their old ugly ones that don't go with anything.

as far as this not being what you want to do, i completely understand, however i have yet to see someone do this in person, and it's been getting nothing but compliments all day.

call it tacky, call it juvenile, idc. it is TEMPORARY and unique. as the saying goes, to each their own and i can respect you seeing it not my way.
