I'm fine and that's what counts. The car would have been 7 months old tomorrow, and i just broke 11,000 miles on it.

Sometime this week I'm sure I will get an estimate for the damages. Not sure what to hope for... it is never going to be the same now.

The verdict is in: Not totaled for now, but couldn't get the hood open to inspect the engine bay... So it will be under further review.

No idea. After it hit I couldn't get the car to stop (or see anything). The brakes were dead, I don't know - that doesn't make much sense.

Thankfully no one was near me on the highway.

After quite a while (I had my cruise on at 65 at the time), I was able to maneuver to the median area in the weeds where I finally came to my senses and ripped the emergency brake.

It was about 8:40pm, so it was dark. I imagine it is dead somewhere in the field it jumped out of.

my bro hit a deer with his mr2 spyder the other day. it only broke the headlight some how and flew over the roof making a small dent in the rear quarter on the way down. the deer lived though..legs were broken badly with the bones sticking out. Then a cute blonde sheriff showed up and shot it..lol

I just don't want to have to deal with fixing all of this now. Anyone have any guesses as to what repairs would be? How much are airbags, I know that always a major cost?

I love this car, but is it wrong to say that I don't want one with past tarnish and quirks?

Its surprising how much damage a deer can cause. Hopefully everything ends up going okay. Good luck

the fact that the door started to crumble makes me think there is a possibility that it would be totaled but idk...it would need some frame damaged because the car is too damn valuable unfortunately

At least you didn't swerve and hit something. Should be covered by insurance at least.

Did you kill the deer before OR after seeing what it did to your car? :-)

Sorry man but good luck. That's what insurance is for.

Glad you're okay man. Living in Upstate NY, I worry this all the time. Especially anytime I visit my parents, whose area is infested with deer. I tend to take the daily driver when I go there to reduce the risk of having something happening to the WRX.

Similar damage to my Civic 5 years ago minus door and airbag cost $6000 to repair. Factor in inflation, $1000-1500 airbag, and the door and you're looking at somewhere north of $8500. That's a ballpark figure because it largely depends on the shop's labor rate. So say plus or minus $1500.

dont worry about a thing, either its totaled, or the insurance company will handle the airbags, which are about $750 new.
