Default Random thought...

Hi all:

Here's a random thought... I don't recall a thread about this, but I've been wrong many a times...

My co-worker was talking to me today about my car, and it got onto the topic of how cars are typically referred to as female. This naturally lead to "Do you have a name for your car?"

I personally don't have a name for my car, although I do refer to it as a "she".

Does anybody here have a name for their ride?

Just wondering... don't flame me if this is a stupid thought!

Kelvin

i've been trying to come up with one. i have a good one, but a friend told me it's a bad idea to name a car after a girl you want to get involved with. hmmmmmmm....

definately a girl though.

You know, I was considering doing the same thing! But I got a nasty vibe thinking about it. I started thinking that if I named the car after her, I would never get her.

My car is an extension of my own persona. Ergo, it is male.

Good answer, Diz! -- however much I want to think of it that way, I somehow always come back to referring to my car as a "she"...

I have about 3 names in mind too, but I definitely made a rule about not naming it based on a past girlfriend or even a future name for my kid!

How about some of the female owners out there? Does your car have a gender?

Ok wierd or not, I have never named any of my cars before and I have had a few. I always thought that if I did name a car, I would give it a female name, (ie. the she when you refer to your car) but my cars name,,, well came to me in a dream before I even knew I was getting it. I had seen it on the lot (hiden in the back just off the truck. I wanted blue so the dealer took me to the back to show me the only blue one they had) while still deciding if I really wanted to spend that much money, I was still thinking base model. So the night before I decided to get him I seen myself walking up to the car and I called him Sebastian. So thats how my car got his name, actually I beleave he named himself.

Now that I read this, I realize these aren't very original, but here goes:

1994 Nissan Maxima - Maxine
1997 Nissan Maxima - Max (he was more masculine than the 94)
2002 WRX - Rex
