Default Removing paint form an Intercooler

My intercooler is painted black and I would like to remove the paint since it is starting to chip and also it reduces the cooling properties a bit. What would you reccomend to remove it without damaging the intercooler?

I cleaned some parts with this stuff called aluminum bright. I would think it would take paint off but not completely sure but after you get the paint off it would do a good job polishing it up.

Light soda or walnut shell blasting. Make sure all orifaces are blocked off. Or, use aircraft paint stripper that you can get at O-Reilly's or Hi-Tec; brush it on, watch it peel the paint, then spray it off with a hose. Don't let it stay in contact with skin for very long or it will give you a chemical burn...

it shouldn't reduce the cooling capabilites if it was done properly...

It may not be that noticeable but painting the intercooler will decrease Intake air temperatures regardless of how it is done. By applying a layer of paint over the thin aluminuim fins they are not as efficient.

As long as air can get through it it should be fine. Most people's intercooler fins are bent closed anyways. You are running an intercooler twice the size of stock anyways. Don't they come painted from APS? That's just my two cents but its your car so whatevs.

2 years, that's not that bad. When people start bumping 8 year old threads, that's getting a little ridiculous.
