If you guys are needing winter tires talk to Wes at Wes Bob's Tire Service 745-TIRE. I paid just $400 mounted/balanced for the iPikes for my Jetta.
Johnson's wanted almost $800 for the same tires.

OR if you want to stay in Los Anchorage, talk to Jerry at the Shell station on corner of Boniface/Debarr.

It depends what you mean by "fortune". The wheels I showed go anywhere from $200 to $400 per wheel, then it just depends which tires you choose. The TSW Interlagos in 19x8 5x100 +35 can be had for around $1200 and weigh as much as the stock BRZ wheels. Most of the wheels I share weigh about the same or much less than the stock wheels. At 20lbs for 17x7 +48 the stock wheels are way too heavy.

The only wheels that aren't reasonably priced are any that have "STI" on the center caps. You'll pay over $450 each wheel whether they're 17x7 5x100 +48 or 18x8 5x114.3 +55 and they're not light wheels, either. JDM don't care 'bout yo budget.

The Enkei RS05 wheels that Grinder likes are $300 each for 18x8 in silver or just over $400 if you want them in Special Brilliant Coating. They can be had at a more aggressive +35 offset. I guess it all seems reasonable to me since I want the 17.8 pound Volk Rays G25 19x8 5x100 +45 wheels that are $940 each.

I blame Subaru and the 2011 STI sedan reveal. At that time they said, "Yeah, you get BBS, but we dropped the gold option" and everyone FREAKED. The SoA rep's reply in an interview was quoted as, "We wanted to give you guys something to bitch about."

I agree that if they're going to bother continuing WRB then gold should stay.

Found out those 17x7.5 STI BRZ wheels weigh 18.4 lbs. They're +48 offset.

Subaru Japan just released the 18x7.5 sizes.

Btw, my mom REALLY likes that WRB color. Even she misses my STI...

I'm LOVING those in black. If only they were at least 18x8.

Dude...What is everyone's obsession with a "Oh it's not badass unless it's at least 8""...

I mean..

I'm just saying...you expect girls not to turn you all away just based a measurement..

Don't knock it before you try it! It's about the final package...and specs just play a small role in that.

Yes I've been drinking tonight.

I choose 8" wide as well. Some wheel producers have a different face (ie more aggressive) the wider you go. Also tire of certain sizes have a better fit on a wider wheel (ie 7" or 7.5" versus 8" with a 245 width tire).

just my $.02

Well, you have to understand that Kyle is in a wide-body 3G WRX now. It's crazy what fits under there. When I was looking for wheels for the WRX (when I thought I was keeping it) I balked at anything less than 18x8.

So far I've been fairly impressed with what the BRZ can pull off and still make look good. I really think that wider wheels defeat the purpose of this car, though. I wouldn't go beyond 8 width.

That is correct. My stock wheels are 8" wide.. Why go smaller unless for winter?
These things can eat a 265 wide tire without ANY modifications at stock height, 275 with a roll, and 285 with a roll/pull.
Why not strive for something magnificently wide?
Like girls always claim, it's not the length but the width ;D

Eh, well..
That is good reasoning, but one could achieve a light setup while still going decently wide. And not to "diss" on the BRZ, but the WRX and STi have the power to move the weight while not hindering the performance greatly.

No no no. I agree about the BRZ not having enough power, but you have seen the difference between having your Rota DPT 18x9.5 and Enkei RPF1 17x8 wheels. You have FELT the difference. Which do you prefer?

They sell the red one, or did they pull it in for the night? I rolled by around 7 and didn't see it out.

I prefer the agility of the RPF1, not going to deny that.
But the swag and track of a larger wheel is undeniable.
