You mean the rear diffuser? Yeah, I agree. I don't like the spoiler, either. A bit too much Pontiac Grand Am. Fairly unnecessary for a 197bhp NA car. *shrug*

Not crazy about the tail lights. I'd tint them.

The tires look like 215 width. What do you guys think?

And Marshall, thanks for the rally links.

Hmmmm!

The one Chano is going to purchase at full pop retail and then turn around a couple months later and sell for a huge loss.

You need people like me in your life as examples of what NOT to do. Don't hate, congratulate.

I'm down with the Subie version. The only way I'd seriously consider getting this car is if I was blown away by the test drive. If Conti doesn't allow test drives on this car then they're screwed because on paper this car doesn't sound too impressive to most people, since most people don't have a soul and this car is supposed to attest to the spirit of driving.

Apparently these cars won't be Special Order Only cars like the Legacy 2.5 GT. Toyota and Subaru want to see how well they'll actually sell, so dealerships will be required to keep them in stock. Since the manufacturers are going with "fun to drive" as their main selling point, we can't have any more of this "STI status" stuff where you have to come with $30k+ cash and/or be old (aka Mike) to be allowed to test drive a performance car.

But I can tell you this, at least for myself, I'm NOT going to walk in and buy a "new" car that has already ticked off 200 pimply-faced dickweed miles because everyone wanted to "test-drive" (read: not buy) the new car.

Set one aside for demonstrations, sure. Allow a test drive for every car on the lot? No way.

Well, yeah. That's how they justify it with the STI, though. With their mark-up it's almost $40k, so that's somewhat understandable. This car is supposed to be in the low $20k's, so there should be some play involved. Of course, I don't care about the other pimply-faced drivers, I just want MY seat time (as I'm sure Phil will want his as well).

If I can test drive one... awesome. I really hope so. But as for buying one... I'd be ordering one and not buying one off a lot... should result in NO ONE DRIVING IT BEFORE ME lol

I am merely amused. You are amusing. You amuse me.

Seriously, just a bit of good natured ribbing. Trying to make you a bit more aware at the same time.

Many of you younger folks seem to confuse the term "OLD" with frightening frequency.

Age is all relative.

If your definition of old=wisdom, maturity, experience, and common sense…then, Yep, I'm old, and proud of it.

I'm pretty much never serious on these forums! That's why I rhymed my response, to show that I was just playfully responding.

I'm also aware of my spending habits and don't mind wasting my youth in an attempt to find a vehicle that suits my ever-changing needs and personality. I love my current ride, but if I could have something that gets me through winter that I won't have to worry about bumping into snow with and a separate vehicle that's fun to drive for the summer when I waste gallons of gas just cruising around, to me, at this stage in my life, that would be the MOST ideal situation.

If I were married or even dating anyone then I could give two craps about this car, but as it stands I have the ability to change things up, especially now that I'm working full-time at my new job.

I didn't ask about your sex life, Old Man Winter. (sorry, that made no sense, but I ain't scurred!)

And I remember when R. Kelly helped Aaliyah determine that age was nothing but a number...

Old is a state of mind that you tout quite frequently. This is the only reason I bring it up. When you start talking about your life and say, "When I was younger and made mistakes" that's when you're old in my book. When the past is mentioned frequently, that's Old Man status.

You see, I HATE the past. I learn from it and move on, I don't like to dwell. I figure that's what keeps me young (and apparently unwise in your book). What I like about you is that you enjoy life, as do I, and I think this car will connect people like us (possibly better than Subarus already do) since it's main focus is the JOY of driving.

Speaking of which, I'm anxiously awaiting pricing on this bad boy.

hahaha Oh man! I forgot how short the post originally was before I expounded on it.

Hopefully Mike doesn't think I'm vindictively attacking him, since I don't waste my time with that stuff.

Agreed! I love that color!

The only thing that would hold me back from buying this is the fact that it isn't AWD. If I lived in a place where it didn't snow it wouldn't be an issue but up here I need my AWD.
