Arrow Drive and Ride (Ski/Snowboard) Meet

The meet thread for skiers and snowboarders.

Due to the plethora of resorts in our region, name the meet, date, and resort. Keep it organized.

This is dedicated to many different meets not just one particular meet.

Powder Mountain Jan 6 or 13 2011

Powder Mountian has a great deal;
Midweek passes are $47
Personal guide $200 for the group up to 6 people. Includes cat rides.
Around $80 per person.

I would like to get 6 or so to join. I have a gopro and would like you to bring your cameras so we can put together a short film of the event.

The date is flexible due to weather The more pow the better.

Get your shred sticks of doom and join me for an epic day full of cliffs, hits, chutes, and deep pow pow.

I know this is a little early but the sooner you know the easier it will be to make it, no excuses.

More information to come, stay tuned!

Brighton (Its close and centrally located to the Salt Lake Valley)
Day passes last year were $63.00, I would suspect it would be around that much this year.

Personal guide: Me. I know Brighton well.

Brighton Night meet!

In december night boarding/skiing will start. Often they have 2 for 1.

so. . .

December.
Brighton.
Cheap.
Centralized in location.

post in the correct thread. (snowboarding thread)

Your better off spending some extra cash on better equipment, check ksl classifieds. Used gear or year old gear, you can get last years gear for 50-70% off on sites like backcountry.com. Cheap gear is good to learn on to see if you will even like the sport, it will only get you so far. Price=quality/performance. It is an expensive sport, the start up cost is the biggest expense, then lift tickets of course.

I vote for brighton because that seems to be where the majority of us ride. If we can set a date i would be willing to pack up my bbq. I will even contact brighton to see if they will hook up a deal for those unfortunate people that don't have season passes.

Brighton has group rates for over 25 people. I have my pass there and would be down to meet.
Quad Wednesdays are always a great deal.

The point of this thread is to create different meets, due to the plethora of resorts it is probably better to have one thread dedicated to all of the ski/snowboard meets, not to vote on any particular one. If you are interested in a meet someone has created in this thread then post about it.

BBQing at brighton sounds fun but, it is not permitted. I have not been shut down my self but have herd of others being asked to shut it down. Tailgating is not allowed.

Im sure if they were contacted there would be no problem. I know some local companies such as surface/causwell have brighton Fridays and always bbq. I can't imagine it would be an issue.

Who's the organizer of the Brighton meet lets set a day for it and weather it is day or night?
Could we make this a regular thing?
I vote for a weekend day like Sunday. Lets BBQ and ride all day.

Also, if we meet at the bottom of the canyon and caravan up we can all park together.

So far it looks like we are good to go. I am going to set a tentative date of Dec 11th, which is a Sun. Discount passes are going to rely on how many ppl we have. Do you guys have an estimate on how many ppl you think will come?

Good to hear you can BBQ, I was miss informed by a friend, maybe they got a little out of hand.

I have a pass, I will be there!

Should we meet at the mouth of Big Cottonwood and caravan up?

It would be nice to drive up together so we can all park together, larger tailgate area!

Also I'll be riding at Brighton on Nov 24-25 PM me if you want to meet up.

This sounds like it'll be a blast. I'm just warning you guys though, I'm a total newb at skiing and could hardly handle the black diamonds after the two times I went last year. I'll hang out and chill, but probably disappear once we hit the lifts for the sake of my humility.

I want to organize a group ride at the Canyons first weekend in January. How many people would want to do this?
