Thumbs up Rally Finland is live...

Well folks, wrc.com is covering stage 1 as I write. Thought I'd fire up a thread as I couldn't see any others for this rally yet.

Thoughts? Comments? Who's gonna win it this year?

Ive got a feeling about Solberg. Remember that event has been won by a Finn for atleast the last seven years in a row.

Today was just the Super Special, so there was nothing to be gained by Tommi going "maximum attack."

Looks very close!
Only 2.1 seconds seperate the top 10!
Only 10 seconds seperate the top 56 cars!

No Finn in top 4!
But it's only the first stage. Watch the Finns get mad and take charge.

Exciting, and I nearly forgot about it.
Thanks for making the post!

That stage was only 2.05 Km long I wouldn't expect a large time gap

Went to that page on wrc.com.

What's up with the pic?:

http://www.wrc.com/en_GB/duringhp_FIN.htm

Edit: it changed. Nevermind. (it was a picture of a kid looking at some boobies)

After SS2 its:

GRÖNHOLM
ROVANPERÄ
MCRAE
BURNS
SOLBERG

Makinen is having problems.

I have a good feeling about Solberg on this one.

A more likely question would be "What broke on the Impreza this time?"

Last nights stage means nothing in the grand scheme of this rally. It was a 1 minute 15 second stage and there are 5 seconds separating the top 25 teams.

Default Service Notes

Has anyone seen the "Service Notes" on WRC.com? Doesnt sound like either of our guys are too happy with their team right now...

Quote:
Petter Solberg (Subaru), seventh, +28.1s: "F******* hell, f****** tyres too f****** soft. We're doing everything we can, but there are five Peugeots in front of us, and that tells you something."
Quote:
Tommi Makinen (Subaru), 11th, +32.0s: Kaj Lindstrom said, "The car doesn't seem normal at all. There's no power even on the straight easy bits. The bad thing is we have no idea what's causing the problem. If the engineers can't find it we're f*****."

Funny stuff .

Sounds like their pissed, and they'd probably be kickin ass if their cars were working properly. I think they'll push hard tommorow.

I'm impressed with Burns, and disapointd with Kankkunen. Give him a good car!

Peugeot = NY Yankees of WRC. :monkey: Throw enough money at it and sure you'll win every time.

Question now not whether SWRT will even win another rally this year, but even gain another podium. Solberg seems at least able to assess the problem. Where is Makinen's head?

Where is Makinen's head?
Crying behind the wheel of his broken Suby.

Sucks for the Gronholm protege who was kickin ass in a 2000 spec Pug, and then has to retire on Leg 1.
