Unhappy beta stg 2 93oct overboost

so i was having problems hitting target boost, but achieved it after some parts swapping, and today i did a 3rd/ 4th pull, and the AP registered 18.8psi. way overboost! i had a lil fine knock, and backed out but i'm confused as to why all the sudden i'm boostin like crazy. target on this tune is 17.79, i'm at sea level, but the temp dropped like 20* today so...... any possibilities? i wish i data logged the pull, but now i'm afraid to pull again. i think i need a new MAF this car goes from one extreme to another. 02, GS UP, invidia catless DP, N1 race CB, Cobb Stg 2 93 v310 beta. stock airbox/filter.

That isn't a major overboost. Occasionally hitting 1 psi or less over your boost target isn't going to cause any damage. The colder weather can be a contributing factor. You can download the low wastegate (LWG) map from our map repository which should help to mitigate your overboost condition:

Best thing to do is to get a data log (see video below). Occasional knock correction is normal; it just depends on when and how much as to whether it is a concern or not.
