Default lifter shims

Does anyone know if subaru makes lifted shims that are smaller than 2.22?

For the ej20g ver4. I installed ej25d intake valves and when I went to measure for shim size I came up with a size of 2.16mm and as far as I know the smallest size shim subaru makes is a 2.22mm. I picked up the 2.22's and installed them the problem is that I am not with in spec for clearance. I was able to get a clearance of .13 mm but I have been told that for the intake side you need .20mm...what would happen if I ran it with the 2.22's?

For the EJ20K (under bucket shims) the thinnest is 1.76. The one you need, shim over bucket, is available from 1.88 thickness. For 2.16 the part number is 13218AC200.

Is that an official dealer? Both my EUDM and JDM parts catalogues confirm the availability, and you can order the shim also through SubaruGuineParts.com making this part available world wide.

Do you happen to have a list of the shim sizes with part numbers? I can't seem to locate them in the catalog without part numbers.

The part number for 2.16 is posted somewhere above. It's the same shim as used on the USDM EJ25D engine 1997-1998 so any dealer should really be able to help you. What thicknesses do you need?

dealers vary greatly in the information they provide, it depends heavily on the particular person you are talking to, and also the dealer as a whole regarding how much value they put on their parts departments. The only way for SURE to know if you can get something is to call the dealer with the part number and say "i want this part number" and they will tell you if they can get it. as long as you can personally verify the part number is the right one, then ignore any contradictory information they give you.

I generally test part numbers by putting them into subaruparts.com and seeing what comes up. The only trouble Ive ever had is when their database says something is available when in fact it WAS available but is sold out nationwide. popular OEM addon stuff like jdm sill plates and fog light kits, once the part numbers become known, everyone buys them all...

also Marnix is great.
