Looking good. I knew they were Karlton flares. Just wasn't sure if you had picked up the flares before he came out with the Bugeye specific ones because those were just made not too long ago. The 04-07 ones have been out for a long time. I plan on getting them soon.

I figured they were bugeye specific due to the excellent fitment, but was gonna double check before saying yes to something I wasn't sure on. You'll love them when you get them, definitely will not be disappointed, just get some rims wider than mine and use that space for a nice 285-295 tire.

Yup definitely the bugeye flares. And thanks for the kind words! Wish you had the 5x114 swap already as I have a few different wheels/tires I want to try to see what fits on the bugeye with flares haha.

Minor update and a very lucky change of plans. With all the work the body shop has been putting into the car, they are using it as a way of showcasing their talents to the everyday subaru community in the bay area, and called me offering to paint the entire car except for the roof for a couple bucks more. Definitely hopped on this, and would have loved to get some 3m protective film done as well except I am already so over budget. I will be saving up and having this done as soon as I regain some budget. Painting the whole car will clean up the car, ensure perfect color matching, as well as fix all the dents, paint chips, etc. Very very excited, and is another step toward a really nice looking final car. Here is how the car sits now, and should be painted any time. Then install the dv valve, tune at gts, and go habve fun and save for a six speed and proper shocks.

Look at how precise they got the fender flares to fit to the car. Top notch work, I am very impressed. I love it when a shop surpasses my expectations and works on a project as though it was their own pride and joy.

So I got this picture sent to me from the bodyshop on Monday. I get this text asking if I am busy, and I start freaking out wondering if something went wrong, and Kris sends me these pics on my iphone. Immediately, I can tell these look absolutely amazing and way way beyond anything I was expecting or even dreamt of on my car, so I immediately email it to my computer so I can look at it in actual sizing. Wowwww!!!! Absolutely exceeded my expectations and blew me away at the quality. Like I said in an earlier post, it is so refreshing and satisfying when a car treats your project like its their own car, I can see why this shop has so many projects in the import magazines due to their amazing work, and the pricing was amazing fo rmy initial quote before we decided to spray the car. Very reasonable pricing with outstanding work quality. The next text I got said "we haven't even polished it yet".

All I can say is my car looks absolutely f***ing amazing.
I pick up the car tomorrow, as we had a recent storm in the bay area and we want to make sure the adhessive totally sets on the rear door insert pieces before pickup. Pickup is tomorrow, pictures and links to their website to follow.

Yeah I would have loved to do that, but that is not where I want to spend my remaining budget. I still am function over form (although with the amazing job Kris did my car now looks better than I ever imagined), so rather than spend money on a body kit, I am saving for my six speed, aggressive diffs, and coilovers. Trying to invest in things that will make my car considerably faster and improve on any weak points. It is currently an entirely new animal, but still relatively benign, and eagerly awaiting a six speed, aggressive diffs with electronic control of the dccd, further suspension geometry improvements, q rack, built engine with a twin scroll, and further updates to the fueling system. I will enjoy driving this, but there is still considerably more to do. Although, with the amazing job the body shop did on my car, I will be investing in some 3m protective film to protect the amazing work they have done and keep the car look ing amazing even after track days.

And if I was going to spend the money on a new rear bumper, I would have picked one that would set the stage for a proper flat bottom and rear diffuser (zerosports wide body), for me no need to throw money at non functional parts. Believe it or not, this car has been built on a pretty modest budget and is looking to maximize the laptimes per dollar spent, while having daily driver reliability. For me, at this point in the build, I am aiming for a very functional street car that can turn competitive lap times in street class. I feel most wrx/sti owners do not have the luxury of having a full caged/trailered track only car, so this build will serve what products not only work but excel on the track while providing the reliability to survive daily driving commutes. This is why so much money was spent making the suspension completely adjustable, as I feel suspension adjustability is essential to have a fun outing under hard driving in our subarus.

My thread is updated with all this info on iwsti.

Edit: Oh I'm guessing you're meaning the Karlton Fender Flare thread. I just updated, I was gonna wait until I picked it up but hopefully that gives some pics for the bugeye owners out there. Thanks for reminding me.

No problem, thanks for bringing such a quality part to the market, I would never have gone through thte expense of installing and purchasing a quality wide body, and thus would have been relegated to running less rubber. This is such a functional part and is very very well made. Like I said, my body shop was very impressed by them.

And I really wish I had my 6 speed and hubs installed already, I would have my car over in a heartbeat. In fact, I probably would have jumped on that 10.5 inch enkei rpf1 set that was mentioned earlier in the thread. I can't wait to get my drivetrain and chassis to a level where I can dump some money into a built engine and twin scroll setup. At least the pics show what they look like on a bugeye, and give an idea how much wider you can go on rims and tires. Like you said when I purchased them, the wheel setup will look small as they can easily swallow 10.5 inch rims with 295 tires. I am hoping when I upgrade to fit an 11 inch rim with either a 295 or 305 on there, and then have the power to make those meats move.

Yeah I was incredibly lucky. Kris and the crew at 5fifteen autobody went the extra mile for me and my car. Fender fitment is super precise, from bumper disconnect matches perfectly, everything constructed properly for durability and function for track use. I am blown away at how nice my car looks, I will definitely be going through them for future parts and work on the car. I literally have never had such a nice looking paint job on a car, much less the oem level of fitment with all the aftermarket parts and custom work. It takes a lot to blow me away but they definitely exceeded my expectations in work and customer service. It is easy to tell why they are such a presence in the import market in the bay area.

Getting my tune this morning by mike over at gst. Very excited to start wrapping up this phase of the build. Full Write ups to come this afternoon about body shop and final tune. Very excited at the quality of the end product. Definitely feeling like its going to be a fun daily driver that can be fun and toss able on the track.

I'm at work today so the dyno plot won't be posted until later, but we hit 290 hp and 262 lb/ft with a heat soaked tmic. Power had to taper off at 6000 rpm due to the intercooler, looks like a fmic is needed along with the six speed. The car is pee in your pants fun right now, going to take me some time to get used to the power.

How far are you planning to spin the motor rpm wise? Also what fuel and boost are you running to reach 290? I was expecting to see around 330-340, being that you were going to be conservative. Which kind of dyno were you tuned on?
