We caught it pretty early and while there was some damage we were able to clean up the block there in the pits with handtools.

After sebring that motor went on to two full track days, one night drag racing, and then half of one more track day.

You saying that all the Street and Mod/Ltd guys I have raced against are the slow guys? I can think of quite a few guys who will take exception to that comment....

FYI, many of our Mod/Ltd track records are faster than many of the Unl track records from just a few years ago. Besides, the Mod/Ltd class has the most entries/competitors of any class. I prefer the competition aspect of the larger fields and certain rules intended to keep this class affordable to average guys/budgets like me and most in my class. I have seen many events where there are only 1, 2 or even zero competitors in Unl (never seen that in Mod/Ltd), where's the value in that?

Having a lot of entrants is always the plan but let's not take away from the fact that most unlimited cars don't give a rats ass who is out there as the only thing anyone is racing is the clock so even if your the only unlimited car out there your shooting for the overall track record plain and simple!

Man you come up with and say some of the best stuff!

I just checked Super Lap Battle 2011 results, nothing from you. I was at Global Time Attack 2011 Finals, nothing from you. So at these events which you clearly weren't at, is that to say that those who raced that day were NOT the "best in class"?

Nothing wrong with picking and choosing when you come out to play and put the smack down but that's one heck of a blanket statement.

That's certainly part of the equation, beating others who are bringing their best game is the other part. The orgy is a little less fun when you are the sole attendee, even if you are the fastest orgy-master...

That said, I've been there, done that in Mod/Ltd and would love to race Unl if I had anything resembling a budget and a proper Unl class tire deal.

Check the records Noah. Our 2010 track record at SLB/Buttonwillow still holds today at 1:48.5 and that jives with my statement. No one beat that time at the 2011 event even tho several made excellent attempts. What's yours or anybody else's best Mod/Ltd time there?

Correct, I wasn't at Infineon (or SLB this year) but skipping that doesn't invalidate anything I have accomplished. You weren't at SLB this or last year (or any GTA East races) but that doesn't invalidate you either. I don't have to hit every race at every track to defend my record, esp since I hold all the class records at all of the regularly raced TA tracks (WSIR, BW, ACS) That statement is also true but may rub some the wrong way. Oh well.... If someone takes a track record away from me then it will be up to me to go get it back or shut the F up.

As for beating "best in class", I include you, COBB, 034, Evasive, Gates/AMS, Nils/Robispec and many others. I am flattered that my great competition work so hard to try and take down my records.

You are right, that's quite a blanket statement that represents a lot of hard work and success and you know as well as anyone that its 100% true. If you think I'm wrong then prove it. Better yet, come beat my records at BW, WSIR, ACS, Firebird etc.

With all due respect, I will be coming for your record at Infineon at the next TA event there. Will you be coming for any of my records?

LIC...the only race car in this group you could also win a show with. Clean and well-executed Subaru goodness.

Wrote up a nice long rebuttal, then realized at the end...I allowed myself/you to waste 3 mins of my life. But as far as "coming for any of your records", I don't ever think about you or even know what your times are for said "records". In other words, I could give a ****.

Didn't know this contest was about records. If so, OP feel free to remove our car from the contest and replace it with JC's.

You win....again but that's nothing new to you. Keep being you!

xoxo,
Noah

I love it when race car drivers banter back and forth.

Takes me back to my Spec Miata days. Man did I get into some good old fashion arguments then.
