Default Free 18" summer tires

Anyone want a free set of tires? They're the stock 18" summer tires off my '08 Legacy Spec.B. Tire size is 215/45/18.

They have signs of dry rot so I don't feel comfortable selling them. If someone needs tires to roll the car on or something, they're yours. If no one wants them I'm gonna dump them off at American Cycle & Tire to dispose of them.

I would have left them there when i put my snow tires on if I knew they were rotted this much. I'm shocked I never had a flat or blowout. I can post pics if necessary.

Tires have plenty of tread left, only about 12k miles on them.

I thought it was common sense not to drive on dry rotted tires but since some people seem to lack that common sense, I will tell you that it would be a very stupid idea to drive on these. These would be ideal for a shop/project car that sits in a garage and/or rolled around by hand.

Ok, let me know when you're available. I don't mind meeting up as long as its not out of the way. I commute from Mahopac to White Plains for work.

I'm not holding them for anyone more than a day simply because they're free and taking up room in my basement. If they're not gone by Thu I'm dropping them off at the tire shop for them to dispose of.

Same here. I had no idea. The car sat in a garage for 6-8 months. I'm guessing the dampness/humidity did it.

Very dangerous, When these blow, for the user as well as for the rest of us. Please destroy these(cut the side walls). Your not doing any one a favor.

I think you're misunderstanding my thread... I don't feel comfortable selling them since they're shot and not safe to drive on. I said I'd give them to someone for free I they wanted to roll a car around on them. I mean roll, not drive. Like a shop/project car. Not drive on the street.

I understood. Unfortunately once they are out of your hands you have no control as to how they are used. I understand doing some one a favor,But this can turn into a very dangerous situation that can affect many lives. Ones we know or don't know. And some how you would be some what responsible. Cut the side walls and discard them. Error on the safe side. Peace.

I hear what you're saying and added that to my original post. I'm likely going to drop them off at the tire shop and have them discard them. Thanks.
