Default Too many Mustangs?

Is it just me or does everyone and their grandfathers own a mustang? Today at Whole foods, i saw 6 mustangs of different trims, i think maybe two GT's the rest plain jane ones. But damn, I used to really like mustangs esp the classics but now it seems that its possibly overplayed? I like how I see a select number of WRX/STIs. Makes it more unique haha.

I wouldn't worry too much about the mustang population. Its the beat up civics you have to lookout for because they can't go unsighted for every 100 ft. of road.

I've been from one extreme to the other. When I was in Florida, there were tons of Mustangs but relatively few Subarus; out here, everybody seems to drive Foresters.

I even went from two Mustangs and no Subarus to two Subarus and one Mustang.

I was putting a finger on why owning a Mustang didn't appeal to me (I like them generally) and I finally figured it out: I seem them CONSTANTLY.

Not sure why this would bother me, but apparently it does.

Who cares if you see a bunch. I'll never understand the "I don't like that car because a lot of other people have it." If you never see your car on the road it probably just means it sucks. If it was a good car, it'd sell, and there would be more of them. Good job. You all want crappy cars.

Come to Canada.

Barely any Mustangs here if that'll make you happy.

But on the other hand, there are tons of Subarus so you may feel like less of a unique snowflake.

To the guy who says we love crappy cars, please leave the forum cause subies aren't crappy just they are a specific market and are generally kinda expensive, that's why subies aren't a hugely owned car across the span of America. Anywho, yes mustangs are fricken everywhere and the only reason people buy them is cause they are cheap easy and super common for parts and it's American and everybody seems to think that buying japanese sports cars is treason. Sorry I'm a subie fan for life, doesn't mean I hate my country cause I don't wanna own Chevy, ford or dodge garbage.

So funny thing.... I met this chick a while ago who lived in japan, she was a graffiti artist doing an artist residency out here. She told me she liked my WRX, and i thought since it was made in Japan WRX/STI's would be everywhere over there. But apparently not, there supposively pretty pricey in Japan. I dont know how much she knows, but pretty interesting.

Well, the rate of increase appears to be slowing... year to date sales are way down.

3. Mustang
> Decrease in units sold: 93,829
> Pct drop: 58.2%
> Base car price: $22,310
> fuel efficiency: 19 city, 31 hwy
> JD Powers quality score: 3/5
> JD Powers reliability score: 4/5

The high point of auto legend Lee Iaccoca’s career was not his revival of Chrysler but the launch of the Mustang in 1964. Many car industry historians say it was Ford’s fastest selling car since the Model A. Over 400,000 Mustangs were sold in the car’s first model year. The current version of the Mustang is the fifth generation of the automobile. Ford upgraded the Mustang engines this year, but that has not helped revive sales. The Mustang is in a highly competitive part of the market, which includes the Chevy Camaro.
