Default 06 into 02 doable?

Okay so we took posession of the 2002 wrx shell saturday morning, and already standing in front of a 2006 wrx donor (manufacture date 7/05) the harness in the donor has been hacked away at, so Im wondering will the 7/05 drivetrain work with the 2002 harness or will we have to find a new harness as well? Hes looking to pick the motor asap so the sooner I know the better much thanks!!

Probably not. 02 is 16 bit. and I think 06 is 32 bit with canbus? Unless you have a good concept of electronics or an engineering background with both wiring diagrams I would not do it.

i have a 2006 wrx motor in my 02 running my stock harness and ecu. Keep in mind, the avcs is disabled and i have my stock throttle body instead of the drive by wire. The only things i had to buy was a cosworth cam angle sensor bracket and a new tune.

here is my thread about some difficulties with the cam angle sensor bracket http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1616945

06 isn't canbus...but he won't be able to run avcs without running the wiring kind of like how you have to do with the ej207 swaps I'm assuming
