I've seen people spell it ImpreZZa more and more. Why? On everything Subaru, and anything even mentioning the car, it's spelled with one Z. It seems the "knowledgable car types" are the only one's who spell it with 2 Zs. Why?

Joel, I tried researching this about a year ago and could not find out. I agree though, the people that say or publish it with two z's seem to be knowledgable. I don't know if it's in the translation or what.

Yea, it happens in the translation. It's pronounced "Impretsa". The "ts" sound is usually translated to a "zz" in translations (pizza, Mike Piazza). I really don't know why they can't look at Subaru's media kits or look on the G.D. back of the car to spell the name right. But the only thing I have to say is the world is full of morons.

ahh, ok, so it's just because they're morons, and think they're cool "translating" it into english the phonetically correct. It's always the cool "know it all" car types too. It's on the car, in all the books about the car, on TV, on the Japanese Web site... man, you think they wouldn't be idiots.
