Remind me again why they skipped a compound for these races?

No, safe to say DC still holds that title.

I don't think they had the timing hooked up so DCs lap times were all unofficial.

interesting perspective as to why Mercedes has been the suck:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/19064856 Which then makes me wonder why Lotus is still pursuing the double-DRS even if its a dead-end technology? McLaren was also talking about potentially jumping on the bandwagon. don |

Haven't seen it mentioned, but it looks like GA has sold out at COTA.

i thought Lotus' was an additional rear wing stalling above 150mph, and not anything like Mercedes' front wing contraption. i think it is more akin to F-duct from 2010 than double DRS. |

Is this the best they can come up with in the dead zone of no F1 news? i guess the driver market is pretty static this year which means no bombastic rumor headlines about every driver that ever made it on the podium is a potential Massa replacement. Except Tiago Monteiro.
Oh funny you should mention Tiago, he just tipped up in WTCC testing. http://www.autoblog.com/2012/07/30/h...ew-wtcc-civic/ |

Few photos taken today at Circuit of The Americas. The facility is coming along nicely. It was really cool hearing all the details about paving process and stringent requirements needed to be FIA complaint.

Good photos HRG. I love going out there and seeing it grow.
Turn 1 looks insanely steep. |

Turn 5 is the back stretch which isn't flat at all. I'm wondering how the drivers are going to feel doing 175-220mph with 2 humps.
Turn 1 in person is pretty awesome. It's a complete rundown then climbs steeply. |
