don
That's funny. Nowhere in that article did they mention Nico Rosberg.

Ouch. That sounded expensive, like glass breaking.

I want to like him and root for him, but I just can't for some reason.

Yikes. He needs to sit and think about that one for a few. It seems like he was just going too fast through there

Haha, even the commentary on that last vid is harsh.

Guy says "always like that" then goes to say in a sarcastic tone "how rare for him to wreck".

I don't know why I'm such a sucker for a good Rubens Barrichello article. The man is nuts.

Quote:
Rubens Barrichello believes he could yet get another chance in F1, despite being cast aside at the end of last season by Williams.

The Brazilian, who will celebrate his 41st birthday next May, switched to the IndyCar Series for 2012, running with the KV Racing Team, and thus far the 2002 and 2004 F1 championship runner-up has had five top-ten finishes - his best a seventh place finish at Iowa back in June.

However, despite enjoying his racing on the other side of the pond, his heart it seems remains in F1 and while he has been pleased to see his old team do well, with Pastor Maldonado of course winning in Spain to give the Grove-based squad its first win since 2004, he reckons things could have been even better with him.

“I think there is still a way back [to F1],” he said in an interview with German publication, Auto Motor und Sport. “I am not racing in IndyCar as a last resort. I am competing because I love racing.

“F1 this year, though, is sensational, how close it is. I follow every race in detail, from Friday onwards - every practice session. I study each sector time, and I get quite accurate information about the tyres and the way the cars are set up from friends. My wife complains that I'm completely crazy.

“My heart bleeds that I cannot be there. But I am happy that I can drive here [in IndyCar] and I do not see myself as a victim [that I cannot be in F1]. I think it is just a shame for Williams because I think it would have been a really big year. Not just for me, but also the team.

“Williams would have benefitted from me. I would have been a good team-mate and coach for [Bruno] Senna, [Valtteri] Bottas and Maldonado. If they had me next to them they would do much better than they do now.

“Look at Maldonado. He had fewer accidents last year than this season. He is super fast, but with me as his team-mate, he was a lot more controlled.

“Okay, Williams have a lot more points to their name than last year. But with this car they could be in the top third.”

He has a point, since the car seems to be a lot better then when he drove it last.

But saying things like, "(Maldonado) is super fast, but with me as his team-mate, he was a lot more controlled" is just dumb.

I'm surprised the tunnel is that smooth. Everywhere else in NY the roads are like the surface of the moon.

It's not exposed to the elements like the rest of the streets. Also, you'll get a lot of wear when you have heavy vehicles stopping a lot, like buses and trucks, that just destroy asphalt. You don't have to worry about that in a tunnel.

I know I've hit some pretty obscene speeds in the tunnels around Baltimore. Maybe 130-140 mph in a ~600HP DSM.
