Team Trophy only for the first place, whereas Drivers gets them for second and third place too.

It´s odd, and McLaren is the only team which claims all driver trophies for themselves, but that´s a part of your contract.

He's been there forever and needs to prove his talent is his own and not down to Mclaren. Going to Mercedes will help him prove that to himself. Especially as Mercedes is probably going to have an advantage in 2014 with the new engine regulations. Mclaren may not even be a Mercedes engine customer then.

Since the regulations are pretty stable for 2013, we should have quite the driver's year next year with all the cars being ridiculously close in performance. If you're a Schumacher fan, better attend the Austin race because this is his next last USGP.

If anyone, I'd think renault would have a decent advantage since they'll be working extremely closely with redbull, who, I would believe, would be an incredible partner. As long as they can make their alternator work correctly

I don't keep up with the F1 blogs all that often, but I happened to read a post on Peter Windsor's that I thought was pretty well done. It is a bit of a reflection on Sir Frank and the beginnings of the Williams team. Well worth the read.

A sad note.... Sid Watkins passed today

Hailing from Liverpool, Watkins was a close friend of Ayrton Senna whose life he attempted to save when the Brazilian had suffered fatal injuries at Imola in 1994.

Watkins announced his full-time retirement in January 2005 and was replaced by long-time deputy and current FIA head doctor Gary Hartstein. He received the Mario Andretti Award for Medical Excellence in 1996 and was made an Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2002. He remained as President of the FIA Institute until 8 December 2011, when he elected to step down.

The amount of good this man did is incredible. Can't believe he performed a tracheotomy on Hakkinen after he swallowed his tongue to save his life.

brawn sure does like to pipe air all over that car. hopefully it will start being effective at some point.

i think their developments have already had a positive effect on the car. they aren't a frontrunner yet, but they are getting closer.

In the last 5 races, neither MS or Rosberg has finished higher than 6th, and that was only achieved once (in Monza where Vettel, Webber and Button all retired). They need to be looking over their shoulder at Sauber because at best they'll finish 5th in the constructor's this year, from 4th last year.

I can think of two problems that are keeping them from being front-runners.

Eh...except when the Sauber is at a low downforce track, and they take advantage of a one stop strategy, Perez has been pretty mid pack. Kinda reminds me of the Arrows-Orange days, when they came alive at the old Hockenheim Ring with their low downforce setup. For that one race, Joss the Boss looked like a king.

Yeah Perez is the real deal IMO. He has put in some stellar drives this season. He's quick like Maldenado but doesnt make bonehead careless errors to ruin it all. He's easy on tires too.

Still, I dont think he's ready for the top 3 teams, Lotus maybe but not RBR,Maclaren, or Ferrari.
