Wings are only allowed to flex a certain amount, and it appears that Red Bull are having the nose cone flex instead.

Yeah they basically get it to meet the test the FIA has for flexing and then make it flex any other way that will give them a gain. The gif of Seb's car is after he hit the DRS marker at speed so who knows how much of the flex can be atributed to that.

The Flying Lap talked about the flexi-nose a few weeks ago. Basically the idea is to get the wing to tilt back while on the straights reducing drag if I recall correctly. I thought it was based on the wing more than the nose though. Interesting to see how RB is getting around that.

again, that doesn't prove anything. he is grabbing the nose in a completely different place.

i'm going to speculate and say that the nose section in front of where the front spoiler mounts is not reinforced as much as the rest of the cone in an effort to save weight and it just being unnecessary. i think this is a non issue. being the very tip of the cone, naturally it's going to need less force to flex.

Car passes scrutineering week in and week out. Maybe we should make even more rules about nose cones now too. YAY, more regulations.

Like I said before he had also had a collision with a DRS marker right before. That could have something to do with the amount of flex.

there was also the collision with senna before that. but i think if you walk up and down the paddock yanking on camera pods, they'll all do that.

I was hoping to get the RBR guys and maybe Kimi/Schumi as well. Since they are right after quali, am I going to have to sneak out of the stands early to line up for them?
