Any news on Reubens? I agree Massa probably won't make it to years end, but last season's F150 wasn't very good IMHO. I would rather see Senna get another ride than Petrov. Alonzo doens't play nice with others, so anyone they put with him needs to be able to push him, but understand he is second fiddle.

Ol Gregg, the Renault in person was physically painful to listen to under braking. Not on the RBR but on factory machine.

Yeah, all were not pleasant but the Renny was insane. Reminded me of Dyson Mazda in ALMS

My point was that there really isn't a lot of history with Senna in a Williams, just three races. He's always going to be associated with McLaren.

He was talking about quali, which, I believe, does have a green light at the end of the pit lane to signal the start.

I think a lot of people would like to see Senna pick up where his uncle sadly couldn't...but Williams now is a much different team, with the only real association being the engine supplier and color scheme of the car.

Since we're going to be sticklers

Quote:
On Sunday afternoon, about forty minutes out from sunset, the cars in the starting grid take off to run through their warm-up lap. The sound is enormous, the work of the swarm. After the tense and thrilling conclusion of Qualifying, the scene is set for a 55-lap, day-into-evening Grand Prix that should last about two hours. The pits are stirring, the cars return to their hold on the starting grid. And once each of the noses have suspended their forward motion, the lights go green, and the pack of twenty-four are gunning for Turn One, a hard left that Vettel, from pole, takes easily. He has maintained his lead, and though it's only been three or four seconds, he seems to have picked up some thousandths on Hamilton in second.

Force India supposedly have their lineup set with an announcement most likely to happen Thursday. Lots of uncertain/tentative words in there, but that's F1.

I thought ever since Senna passed away, Williams have always put a senna sticker on their car, even the current (latest) ones to honor him.

Senna proved dominant with McLaren but lets remember he did drive under the black and gold colors too

When I think "Senna" I immediately think "Honda".

Yep, they have, which is why I think people would think its cool to have his nephew in the car. It also helps that its the fastest car of the rest that have a seat available.

I spy Senna on the Williams FW33

I hope Senna gets an actual seat, not a spot (testing). He may not be the fastest but his family comes from a lot of wealth and in F1 wealth means a lot imo. Has Williams confirmed Barrichello a seat yet? Or was he still seeking sponsorship money?

There has been a Senna S on every Williams since 94.

Yep. For a while it was on the inside of the wing mount, but they've moved it to the outside recently.

Williams has not confirmed a second seat.

I haven't really seen the fascination of Bruno, especially after his lackluster performance in the Renault. Based on this year's stats:

Vitaly Petrov - 19 races - 37 points
Nick Heidfeld - 11 races - 34 points
Bruno Senna - 8 races - 2 points

he qualified much better then he raced that's for sure!

you also have to take into consideration the Renault was a much more competitive car at the start of the season when both Petrov and Heidfeld reached the podium.

By the time Bruno got into the car it had been going backwards in the development race for some time.

They could always hire Ricardo Rosset, heard he's got money.

Agreed, but it was also a bit more reliable by the time Bruno was in it. Nick suffered a couple DNFs from car failure, included his flaming exit:

Williams is getting Renault power in 2012, correct?

Normally I'd have my hopes up but then I remembered Lotus/Caterham had it this year and made no noticeable improvement in their performance.

Actually, it did. They were close to Williams this year whereas last year they were close to Virgin/HRT.

Quote:
Mike Gascoyne's team produced a much sleeker chassis for Lotus' second year but despite the team talking the talk, the opening race left them a little pale as neither their qualifying nor race pace showed signs of bothering the group ahead.

Three races in, however, the car was starting to show promise if hampered a little by fragility, and by the time F1 arrived in Europe, with a tidy set of upgrades, Heikki Kovalainen had put a Lotus into Q2 for only the second time ever.

Monaco produced a good result, with the two cars finishing 13th and 14th, while Hungary, another slow circuit, saw Kovalainen qualify well and have the pace to fend off a Williams, a Renault, a Force India and a Sauber.

With a Q2 spot in Belgium and another 13th and 14th placed finish in Italy, they proved the car could run well both on slower and faster tracks and by the end of the season Kovalainen was beating Saubers and Bruno Senna's Renault and ran as high as 10th (albeit due to running a different strategy) in India.
