Default PPG 5 speed straight cut

I am selling my PPG straight cut 5 speed built by andrewtech. It only has about 12k miles on it. The transmission has only had Andrewtechs cocktail of shockproof/motul in it ever and has been changed 3 times. When built it had all new oem Subaru syncros. It had new everything when built to include a new center oem diff. This really is an amazing transmission. I'm looking to get about $4200 obo + shipping. I feel this is a fair price considering a brand new one would cost about 7k with labor and new everything. This thing is ready to go and handle 650hp. Need to get rid of it before the end of December. Call me, send me a text or email me and I will respond pretty quickly.

wait, what do you have again?
PPG 1-4 gearset transmission handles 400-450hp (can mix straightcut or helical)
PAR 1-4 gearset transmission handles 650hp (1st in straight, 2-4 in helical)

atleast that what Andrewtech told me. Also what other work did you have done to this to put an estimated brand new price of 7k? Last time i check, a little over a month ago it definitely wasn't that.

It's a synchromesh engagement straight cut 1-4. They rate it at 650hp on their website. Go and read what they put brand new in it. Yeah I know everyone says they can get the gear sets for $3500 but that's just the PPG gearset nothing else. Go to Andrewtechs website under Subaru 5 speed and click on the 1-4 straight cut. That will give you all the info you need.

Went to their site, so this is a PAR gearbox 5MT then (http://shop.andrewtechautomotive.com...oducts_id=1016), didnt know they had a 1-4 straight cut option. Those who get 3500 must be lucky cause with labor its ~4500 for PPGs.Besides getting a quote for PPGs they gave me one for the PAR gearbox which runs ~5000 after labor

Anyways heres some questions:
What were you using this transmission for, track/drag racing, etc?
When they did your case, new ring and pinion too?
Like I asked before, any additional work done to this tranny besides what they listed on the site?
Also hows the gear noise, since its all straight cut?

No sorry I was on my phone looking at the website. It is a PPG straight cut 1-4. It has new center diff, synchros, and short forks including the machine work as well. The reason I said 650hp is because from everyone I've talked to said these trannys can hold that power. Andrewtech only lists it for 400hp to protect themselves. I like the noise from the straight cut. It never bothered me. I never used it for track or drag yet I was just using it to get my engine running good after I blew my other one.

i've seen one hold up to around 600whp. and the gears didnt break the output shaft sheared off next to the gear. hence ppg makes a stronger output shaft, which can be straight or helical cut.my friend that did this decided he couldn't wait the extra few weeks for a helical cut transfer gear setup so he went with straight cut. might as well install buy a good set of ear plugs cause he is gunna be deaf after listenign to those two little gears spin to high hell and back...... either way the tranny can hold the power, and in this case the power of a ****ty driver lol

glws, i love my ppg's.

The problem there is I'm looking to stay with the longer final drive. I would get a longer 5th gear if I could

I am the original owner of the gearbox. i am in the process of trying to find the receipts. The gears cost 3600 or so now....then the 1-4 straightcuts were 4400 or so. Also the gear noise isn't that bad. All SC gears sound different and mine was a tad bit nosier than a helical set.

The box was broken in perfectly and shifted smooth. Not a single hick-up or surprise with the trans.

With the labor, machine work, synchros, and new center diff it was over 6k. anyone who thinks you can just buy gears and throw them in is a fool. This box was built to last and the price is more than a steal for what you're getting.

Again, i'm trying to find the receipt but it was bought, machined, and installed at Andrewtech by Dan. PM me you can get my full name and Andrew can confirm this.

GL with the sell i miss the box daily...i went 6spd and it sucks.

I'm interested in this, got a few questions.
Was it an early 04 trans for female axles or does it use male axles from late 04. is the rear diff included in the sale?
And also could you pm me shipping cost to 90019 .

Would be a good setup for my rally build.
Thanks
