I do agree on it looks weird being a Subaru w/o a scoop.... Stance and being lowered would all be tossed aside anyways with a new set of wheels and coils.

A turbo? I do look forward to seeing what an all motor will bring on a Subaru

And one of the BRZ reviews called the steering better than anything out there, short of a Lotus. I'm even more psyched for the BRZ after the initial impressions.
8 reviews about BRZ posted now! Still not a negative one

How about no ingenuity since Subaru has already done the work.

Exhibit #1, 2.0 BRZ engine

Exhibit #2, 1.6L turbo version

Hard to say from this particular angle, but it appears to be an equal length runner manifold. I'd venture a guess this will be a sticky point for the "boxer rumble" fans. But of course, everyone knows the rumble comes not from the horizontal layout, but the stock USDM manifold design.

Nissan Juke 1.6L turbo is 188hp. Mini Cooper with the John Cooper Works package gets bumped to 208hp from its 1.6L. I think the regular Mini Cooper S is right around 180hp.

Is that the Oil Filter I see next to the oil filler cap? That would make for some seriously easy oil changes.

Looking at the placement of the engine in the car in this photo:

It's doubtful that we'll see a turbo version of this car with a TMIC. The placement of the engine doesn't allow for much room.

However, a FMIC with a turbo or a supercharger looks like a delicious possibility.

I also like the design of the TB facing forward you get a good ram air effect that way

Just like with V8 Mustangs, the BRZ/FRS plumbs a tube from the intake tract into the cabin so that you can hear the induction noise.

in for a STi version, RWD Boxer rumble? Where do i sign? This actually makes me reconsider trading in my 2011 STi for a 2013 STi. Guess i'll wait for the BRZ STi. Are any of the rumors confirmed that they will only be sold in the US under Scion as the GT86?

Maybe it's just me but what is wrong with a fun to drive, inexpensive to run, reliable, ridiculously good handling car? All the advantages of a Lotus Elise and less than 1/2 the price? Woot! It's what made the Honda CRX, MX-5, MGs and Triumphs of various vintages, any Lotus, and the Mini (new and old) so much fun. OK, I might be stretching the reliability aspect with some of these examples but the stated intent of the BRZ/GT-86 was always a back to basics sports car. Want a turbo, AWD 300+ hp car? Buy an Impreza STi.

The turbo 1.6 has the TMIC sharply slanted and it sits relatively far forward, connecting to a TB under the intake (as opposed to directly behind it). With a bulge in the hood it shouldn't have a problem fitting infront of the firewall with a different strut brace and the electronics and hoses right there moved a bit.

Sorry if somebody has already said this, but, it looks like there is plastic from the fender liners showing between the head light and the strut mount on both sides.

IF that is the case, ... MAN! the car sits low!

I have been in love with subaru for about 12 years now. Started as a teen and Rally and now as a father we have we have our 3rd and 4th subies me and my wife. I love subaru cause basic features but mostly it's the all wheel drive, tubro charged and unique styling that keeos bringing me back. N ot to mention the 4 doors and storage I need for my family.

at work in a parking lot full of mustangs, vettes and s2000's it makes me smile when co-workers make comments like "mustangs are real sports cars" or "what kinda car is that?"

This car just doesn't capture that feeling for me. I'm sure a few people will be all over it but with so many sporty, rear wheel drive coupes out there in the market it just seems like a waste to me.

Had it not looked like a G35, been all wheel drive and of course boosted with a more rally style suspension then I would have been first in line. I just have this ugly feeling that a bunch of teens are gonna give subies a bad name as this car takes center stage for ass-hat peel outs and wanna be drifting at local super markets. Please Subaru I beg you don't lose focus of the rally heritage... I plan on buying a 2014 Sti and with evo out of the picture for now I may only have Audi too look foward to.
5 friends have showed interest in this car that hate rally and subaru. This bothers me.

Just my .02 no offense to anyone ...

typed on my phone so excuse spelling and all
