Those wheels are one size too big. Love everything else though.

Those vents reek of cheapness!! I will gladly take the wheels, brakes, seats. No thanks in the 4 door trim though, 5 door hatch would be so much better.

Probably a last year send off hi-perf model sort of thing. Give the car a last hoorah before the new body comes out.

Those fender vents look like they were added last minute from an eBay auction. I can see the auction title now "fender vents +20hp and 30lbs of downforce!" haha.

Um, I thought the 2013MY was supposed to be the new WRX, i.e. the new smaller 2.0 car they're working on. I like the wheels though!

Nothing from SOJ (nor the OP's article) says 2013. According to the FHI press release, the car is available for sale as of 11/24/11. You can order one right now.

A couple things:
The current STI hatch is supposed to see zero lift at speed... the sedan is probably fairly similar so no wing isn't going to make a huge difference.

The car already uses the vents behind the front wheels to draw off excess engine heat (this was visible on my '08 in snow storms where the front fenders would be warm to the touch from the engine heat flowing through them) so the vents on top just make the path shorter and allow more air to escape. So, due to the existing design, they're in a reasonable spot. I don't see the big deal.
