Default Galpin Subaru Santa Clarita

So far NOT recommended.

I took the car in for the fuel hose campaign. I got it back with a coolant leak... and cracked PCV hose that we talked about replacing (and others that may need to be replaced) before the repairs were done.

Try talking to the service manager Matt. I've know him for a long time and he's always been a straight shooter and fair to deal with.

After being jerked around by incompetence for over 2 months because they couldn't seem to order the correct hoses for my car, they finally got them in.

They were kind enough to give me a loaner car while the repairs were made, and while they were deciding if some sort of goodwill would apply for the continual delays.

Upon getting my car back, I noticed that the AIR CLEANER lid was not installed correctly, allowing for dirty air to enter the engine, and one of the hoses was not installed completely onto the nipple. And this work was done by their more experienced mechanic!

As a nice gesture, they said they would clean my car up really well (not that it was even dirty.) They sprayed some oily crap on the engine to make it look shiny, but that stuff will only attract dust and dirt that will make it look worse in no time. They also used a clay bar and scratched up all of my clear coat!! ARGH!!!

In the end, Matt got involved, but he did very little to offset what happened in the last 2 months.

I still stand by "NOT RECOMMENDED!"

Galpin has authorized a detail shop to try to fix this mess. I hope there is enough clear-coat left when they are done.

The detail shop had authorization to "color sand" my car. Umm...how do you "color sand" CLEAR COAT?

The detail shop said they did their best. But the guy who originally scratched the car all up at Galpin did a number on my car; STILL SCRATCHED! Too deep to be removed. Apparently the guy at Galpin used "the wrong pad" on his buffer? So now this is a permanent thing that every time I look at my car, it will remind me and piss me off!

In an effort to try to keep me as a customer, they agreed to repair my air conditioner for 1/2 the hourly rate. But since they more than DOUBLED the repair time, I was able to get the air conditioner fixed at an independent shop FOR LESS MONEY! Every "customer pay" labor time they quoted me was DOUBLE that of the reliable independent shops I have used.

I stand by my "NOT RECOMMENDED!"
