No they are not.

Although most Japanese and U.S. built cars use lug nuts, the thread size and head size of the lugs can be different. Many cars from Europe use lug bolts and they also vary in thread size and the head size. The seat of the lug nuts or bolts can also vary. The most common style seat is a 60 degree taper, however there are several other types (flat seat or radius seat) used by different manufacturers.

Always be careful to use the proper type of lug hardware for the type of wheel and car that they are being installed on.

some common sizes are 17mm, 19mm, 22mm, 13/16", 3/4"

there all also different thread pitches and different diameters of the wheels studs such as 3/8" or 1/2" etc.
