Default one for the protune guys

when you guys get a protune does the shop use your accessport to load the custom tune on it so its on your AP when you leave? meaning that once you make the investment on a custom protune, you could change maps to take parts off like a DP for an inspection sticker? ( flashing back to stage 1 from stage 2 protune just to get sticker?)

There was a long conversation about this a few years ago. The answer is yes you can reflash a non-protuned map back onto your car, then flash the protuned map back after you put the car back to how it was tuned. If you make any changes that might require a small change to the protune map you are out of luck unless your tuner is willing to leave the map unlocked. Such as you decide you dont like the exhaust you have and want to change to a different one it might throw the boost off a bit. Very easy fix but a tuner will charge for a retune most times since you changed parts even though it might only need a small change to WGDC. Something to ask the tuner before you put down any money....

That map would tuned for that car specifically. I'm sure you could send the map to a car with identical mods, but it wouldn't be suggested.

The AccessPORT is essentially a toll to flash your car. You can load various maps on to the AccessPORT such as our OTS maps from the website, or custom calibrations from your tuner. AccessTUNER Race can create custom maps that can be opened by other versions of AccessTUNER Race if you want to share maps. Tuners using AccessTUNER Pro have the ability to lock their maps though which would prevent map sharing or opening the map to make adjustments.
