Will the 18's fit on a 2011+ widebody without any fender rolling with your suggested 265/35R18 tires?

i dont think you can get away with no fender rolling. the offset isn't that aggressive but it will be really tight depending what brand 265's you go with. honestly rolling is so easy that you should do it just to be safe and never worry.

i had 18x9.5 +38 with a 275/35 on a 2011 sti and with just a roll in the back i had plenty of room to either go bigger with tires, or lower, which ever you might want.

This is right. With 265 you'll have to roll the back (only). It's minor and it's not hard to do.

New gold 17x9's mounted up with 255/40R17:

Damn, why the change from 38 to 42 offset on the 18's?? I'll have to stop by and take a look at those sometime soon.

The 17's are also +42, and always have been.

Oh, my mistake. Guess I've been looking at a lot of +38 wheels lately.

Any pics from other angles?

Dan, what tires are you running on the BR-Z? How do you like them? Might be looking for some summer tires come spring.

Sumitomo HTR-Z III, 255/40R17. For the money, they are great. From an absolute scale, they are...mediocre. Grip decent, noise medium. Hard to beat for how little they cost, but if you want more grip, any of the Dunlop Direzza/Hankook RS-3/Kumho Ecsta XS type tires will be higher performing. But they will also cost more.

Yeah, that's all I'll be looking for really. Something to match the stockers that will fit on a wider wheel. Doubt I'll be doing any autocross or tracking of any sort, just loooots of commuting. I put 25k on my car in the first year so I want something decent and durable.

Those 18's are tempting, but I might have to stay with 17s because of the terrible roads in DC.

I dunno. 18's aren't THAT low-profile... but yeah, DC roads can be quite cratered...

I asked this in reply to one of the FB photos of that STI, but is that sitting at the stock ride height and have the fenders been rolled?

It looks close to stock height, but I'm not sure. Rear fenders are rolled.
