Default High Boost and High RPM

think this is the right forum to post this in. I Think i may need to do repairs or my map is off.

I have a 07 wrx with a VF39 full Turboback exhaust and Cobb Map when I am in 3-5th gear and push on the gas my RPMS shoot up to redline with in 10 seconds and my boost goes to 17 PSI. if i am in 5th gear on the highway I can get to about 85 miles an hour before I redline out if i have my foot on the pedal I have to slowly push down on the pedal and take my foot off over time to "balance" the boost and Redline effect. This not just my car going super fast super quick this is my car's engine suddenly coming to life and working overtime. it doesn't feel right it feels like maybe my transmission is not keeping up with the engine? I know cold air can make a significant gain but again this just doesn't feel right I have had this map for 2 years+ and I have never experienced this before. in fact I was shifting to get on the freeway and going form 1st to 3rd gear my RPM went over 7K? before my normal shift to 4th. my mechanic is a a normal NAPA mechanic and doesn't have allot of performance experience.

Any ideas or do you need any more specific Information I am glad to give it to you.

Your issue doesn't have anything to do with a map. It definitely sounds like a clutch-related problem (possibly slipping really bad).

It sounds like it is DO you have any good suggestions on a good modified clutch/flywheel combo?

I would check out the tranmission and driveline forum - there's a lot of threads discussing aftermarket clutch/flywheel choice. I would verify you have an issue with the clutch and not something else. When it goes to redline, does it sound like the engine RPM is increasing that high?
